Hi. My son is going to sit for PSLE this year. Since your children sat for PSLE last year, could you kindly let me know which top school papers are the nearest reflection of PSLE difficulty level?
Thank you in advance. -

Except for NYPS, who set very tough papers. The rest of the schools are OK. PSLE standard may vary from years to years. This year papers might be tough. 2010 papers were easy & 2011/2012 papers were average.Hi. My son is going to sit for PSLE this year. I hope this year it will be average :xedfingers: . 2010 maybe a knee jerk reaction because of the difficulty level in 2009 that parents complained about. I think this year will be average too because the issue on how stressful parents are has not been resolved. The government had so far only forbid naming top PSLE students and the government has conducted many discussion with public but no solution yet. I doubt the govt will set a tough paper this year as it will just invite criticism from public. -
Do anyone know any access to Secondary online assessments/Test Papers ? I try http://www.edu.pop.com.sg but it's for Primary school. I am looking at doing online rather than printing it out. Can anyone share ?
Thanks -

Ideally is tough paper for strongest subject & easy paper for weakest subject.
My ds was hoping for tough Math paper & easy Chinese paper last year.
T score tends to be higher when papers are tough. This year COP of top schools will be lower than last year, due to dragon year. You can base on rabbit year COP. All the best to your ds! -
Kids who sat for PSLE last year are in sec 1 now...busy with new environment, tougher subjects and unpredictable hours.
Last year's PSLE was tough...being dragon year...this year may not be as crazy. Cop will probably be reduced. This mid year is the first exam. Hope our kids are confident and do well. All the best :rahrah:
Hubby just told me about this talk about PSLE described as a high stakes exam. It IS !!! Honestly, it's ridiculous to make kids be aware how important PSLE is. Most are 11 or 12...what do they know? It's more stressful for us parents when kids are not the least worried. We spend a lot of money on tuition to make sure they are ready...bcos getting past year paper done one set after another is just to expose them to different format/questions. Answers are sometimes not explained...then when they face another school exam with similar type of questions, answers are wrong again. Is this the 'technique' schools adopt to prepare their students for PSLE??? -
Anyone got any feedback on Mind Edge? Someone told me it helps to motivate kids to do better, like achieve more???

Wondering if your Sec 1 child mentioned to you that Sec 1 is even twice as challenging than the last PSLE they took last year? I'm surprised that my DS told me that.Kids who sat for PSLE last year are in sec 1 now...busy with new environment, tougher subjects and unpredictable hours.

It's a different kind of challenge this year...he does whine about the frequent as well as surprise tests and loads of Math homework...however he finds secondary school life and teachers better than primary school. He enjoys his CCA. This year, I can 'taiji' more stuff to hubby...like math, science, Geog and art  The focus is shifted to younger one.
