Thanks for sharing.
When I see my son faces difficulties in his daily life, that’s when I feel I really need to spend more time to teach him. Atlas, human beings are always fickle minded, I can’t help but also think about the job opportunities, pple I will meet, places I will visit if I am not stuck with this job because of my family commitment. I think I will not take up this new job because apart from the flying, it is also highly stressful and requires me to be on standby 24/7. But I will continue to search for one that can satisfy my requirements. I will continue to pray and am sure, God will provide.

My son is in private Epic, each mth $680. He is also in pte Speech and OT. So in total, his learning and therapies cost $2500 each mth. That’s why I had to transfer him to a kindy, if not I have to pay another $700 on his CC fees. I also hope to be like SlmKhoo, do the therapies myself etc to save the money but I don’t have the confident to do so. And I will always be asking myself if he will be better off if there’s a professional guiding him. That’s why I can’t be a SAHM, I have to continue to work to bring the bacon in for him. But that said, I am not the one footing the bill alone, my husband shares my load. And I hope that by the time he enter’s P1, his therapy sessions can be reduced to perhaps once or twice mthly instead of weekly so that I can cut down on the expenses and work part-time. -
Double E,
Good that you have made up your mind. Hope you can find something you want.
I also hope to teach by myself but thing is I am not a very good teacher esp in the academics. Verbal stimulation and practicing I am still okay. I really have to rely on professional help to aid and guide him then I continue to teach him at home based on what I learn in those sessions.
But there will always be this gap where other people in the family don’t follow the rules or don’t do the best practices with him. I guess that is our disadvantage as being a FTWM. -

I got the same dilemma recently.
but have decided to stay put in current job ( got offered better paying job)
In fact I am in the midst of asking current company to work sort of part time so that I can take care of my son. -
Double e,
When u are not working late n not traveling .
What will u do w yr son ?
I guess most of yr son time now are w therapist n tuitor correct ?
Do u sleep w ur son ? Or make him sleep ?
Yr maid help what on him ? -
Helplessmum
I don’t have a maid. I wish I have but when I think of the money I have to pay the maid, I rather spend it on my kids.
And no, he doesn’t spend most of the time with his therapists, he only goes for therapy on 2 days each week, each day about half a day. And his tuition is only 1 hour each week.
My son’s routine is this. For 3 days in a week, he will go to a kindy in the morning and afternoon he will be at my mum’s. He will take his nap there. My mum will help me to bring him to play at the playground or teach him to write. They are writing chinese words now. If not writing, my mum will help me to teach him life skills like wearing socks.
And at night after I come back from work, I will bring him home. Depending on the time, if is still early, I will do work with him like Maths and English. He will go to bed around 10pm. He will request to read before going to bed. Sometimes I will read to him or he will read by himself. I try not to pat him to sleep, want to train him to be independent. Most of the time, he can sleep by himself. I will ignore his cries for us but if it gets too much, I will go into the room again and tell him to sleep, stop talking and kiss him good night again. I usually have to do this 2 to 3 times before he eventually falls asleep by himself.

Yah, actually it is also my plan to work part-time when my son starts his primary school education. So I guess, I have no choice to stay put at my current workplace.
