      kbcharmaine:
Hi ! I am quite new on employing a domestic helper and training her. My domestic helper has been with me for coming to 3 months and I noticed that her work is getting worse and getting very slow .She can ironed 3 clothes using one hour and cooked one dish of green vegetables using one hour. She never prepared the ingredients in advance or do the thawing of frozen meat in advance. She only thawed the meat before she cooked, so she always takes a long time in the kitchen... She can washed one toilet using 2 hours ...So recently, I talked to her about her work performance , she then started to complain to me about her pain on her tummy and her legs. I really don't know what to do as she had complain before when she first came. This is the second time complaining ... The first time complaining, I had sought the help from the agency and agency had spoken to her and she stopped complaining and worked like she recovered from the magical talk with the agency. Now, again... Everytime, I instructed her to do something, she will show me with very \"painful\" look on her face.. So I came to wonder is there a way to detect is she telling the truth. Please give me advice on how to manage maid.

      Hi kbcharmaine,

Looks like your maid is like acting out. Seriously, if let's say the irresponsible behaviour is consistent and is repeated...have u tried speaking to the agent to have a talk with her? Otherwise, we can use the hard approach...another warning and off you (the maid) go...it is hard to be managing another \"child\" at home...

about the painful look, painful yes, but still got to get it done and limit the time...likewise for other tasks....can say something like \"get it done by 4 pm and I want the food to be laid out on the table...\"

worth trying before changing to another maid (last resort)...getting a new maid can be a bigger headache too, i feel...

      John

Has anyone heard of a Non-profited Organization called ASKI Global Limited??

Currently my maid is studying over there, under the course of Financial Education, with sponsorship from Citi Foundation. And she is learning how to manage her little salary much better than I do.

It is interesting, and definitely made her a better domestic helper than anyone I hired before.

            Hi John Yeo šŸ˜„

Seems like the Organization's Website is down for revamp, the Admin Officer told me.

But apparently I can find them on https://www.facebook.com/AskiGlobalLtd, and looking through their photo albums and their updates.

Seems like they offered a few courses for our Domestic Helper in Singapore, not only just Domestic Helpers, but they included other nationalities as well, such as Sri Lanka & Indonesian. (Judging from their photo albums)

Oh!! By the way, the Admin Officer informed me, that they have a joint project with Metro Foundation from Philippines, to provide courses for the our domestic helpers. I will give you the link over https://www.facebook.com/AskiGlobalLtd/app_151086688341783

I will call the office and arrange my domestic helper to go down their office for the enrollment. By the way, their operation hours is Sunday till Thursday, 9am till 6pm.

Such a weird timing, to work on a Sunday but I can understand as our Domestic Helpers only have Sunday as their off day.

Anyone just renewed passport for their MYNMAR maid recently?

How to go about doing it?
think 1-2 years ago, some parents did post here but wnodering any changes,
especially with the recent rapid change in Mynmar government and their economies.
very worried about what questions they may ask my maid šŸ˜ž
                supposed to pay tax etc..
& Mynmar govt actually do not allow their people to come+work as maids.
so what are we supposed to fill in as their job huh??

my maid been with us for 2 years, passport expire on 1st sept.
I intend to bring her go renew end May/early june.

Hope to get some advice here!!
                Thanks in advance!!

                      piyobaby:
Hi Desertwind, you mentioned that the boyfriend is aware of your address so even though your helper & your home number are changed, he could still track if your helper is around despite sending the \"message\" around that she had been sent home.

                      Hi piyobaby,

You are right, so for last Sunday and today (public holiday presumably off days), we got out of the house and kept maid with us. Also will not let her be alone at home. Have also changed the home phone and will be installing grills on top of the door at the back garden soon. Hopefully by taking all these drastic measures the spurned lover would be \"appeased\". He has to in order for him to stop pestering us. Can only work if maid and her girlfriends don't sabo themselves. She has to keep out of sight and contacts.

I am prepared to call the police anytime there is any \"wind blow grass move\".
