I'm just gonna drop him off. There should be student leaders to guide them. So, no worries. Reminder, wear full uniform without badge.
Hi Mathsparks,
I am not sure about the camp booklet too .
Anyone accompanying your kids to school? Are we allow to bring our kids to school? That means will we be allowed to enter the school if we go with our boy?
Wishing all students an exciting week ahead and a challenging 2010! -
Hi,
My daughter is currently schooling @ RGS. She is keen to pursue HMT or Chinese at 'A' level. However, we understand that this is not available at RIJC but at HCJC.
Appreciate any advice on this pls. Thanks.

Just curious, but the pupils from my class rage from 260+ to 280 + in PSLE T-score. this quite obviously shows that they are not streamed academically. So, will RI be streaming their pupils? If yes, when?
Yes, base on my understandings cum observation they have already been streamed but with some criterials.
The GEP and top main streamers are together but placed at random in 5 classes . Those went in with DSA sports are in A if I am not wrong. The rest are placed at random.
I am still not sure if the MEP students are placed together like RGS.
Anyone here (seniors in RI or parents of seniors in RI) who are clearer as to how RI allocate the students please share , thank you. -

You can ask your girl to try DSA to HCJC when she is in sec 4 if I am not wrong .Hi,

As far as I know, RI distributed their students in Sec 1 according to the followings:
1. GEP/Mainstream. This is to enable the teachers to focus and teach the mainstream some topics or things that has been taught to the GEP during their primary school days. According to the teachers, the mainstream will take at least about 6 months to catch up. High T-score PSLE mainstream students can be included in the GEP group as they might be able to catch up with them thru indepedent studies.
2. MT. Some of them will not take Higher MT. They have to group those students together.
3. Sports Class. Due to the competition and training schedule, there are a sports class which requires some special arrangement and attention.
In the third year, those students who do exceptionally well in the subject will be able to study the subject in depth in the RA programe which I believe Fairy's DS is in.
Bear in mind that RI students are mostly from top 5% of the cohort. There are not much gap between the students and it is competitive. -

Yes, that will be our last resort, I guess. In the meantime, I was just wondering if anyone has any info on the take up rate on A-level Chinese at RIJC. Can the pupils stay on at RIJC and study Chinese at HCJC?
