        Hallo Club 2002ers!

        Yes, SA1 is on.

        dd1 started her 1st paper last Thu (HCL compo), follow by EL & CL compos today & tmr. Main ppr starts this Fri. Frankly, I share the common grouse with the parents here that the kids have NO time to revise for this exam due to the school workload and great amount of time the kids gotta stay back in school.

        To date, this is the MOST ill-prepared exam my dd ever faces. In the past few years, by now (the week b4 the main papers), she would have completed more than half of the previous year's top school papers & run thru some of the topical tests in the assessment books which she was weak in. Now, she has NOT touched any assessments at all, didn't do any CL/HCL pprs, did 3 EL & Maths pprs each & only 1 sc ppr. Not only do I have no clue where her weaknesses are, also found out that all the standards have jumped so much from p4 level... sigh...

        Thank goodness CCA & HCL suppl lessons have stopped from this week onwards, else I think she'll be lacking of rest too! Right now, to me, this will be a test to see how she copes with going to an exam, knowing that she's not as well-prepared as she likes to be (an issue that is totally against her grain, so she needs to come to terms with that). The results will also show me whether she has been listening during class & whether she is able to absorb, retain & process what the teachers teach during lessons, since we are now depending on school for the full exam preparations...

        Somehow, I feel that if she manages to scrap thru this one with satisfactory results, it shows that she has reached ano plane of maturity in her thought process, ability to juggle the different aspects in her life & being responsible for herself. This exam is not just abt knowledge, it's also about growing up...

        Meanwhile, here's wishing all the kiddos of the folks here good luck in your exams! Buckle down, Keep Cool & Think Clear...

        As for us parents, let's give our kiddos all the different kinda support they need :grphug:

              YES, our support is very important!!!!! :rahrah:

              we should
              change our scolding to praising;
              change our frustration to patience;
              change our cane (if any) to candy....

              come on, they are still kids..... try taking the P5 SA1 exam ..... i think i will fail flat....... 😆

                Totally agree with j.a.m. This is, by far, DD's most ill-prepared exam.

                Was in panic mode over the weekend. Did not even know where to start revising as there is just too much to cover.

                In the end, we concentrated on Science, since it is a subject that seems to be most knowledge-based. Sadly, realised that DD has forgotten most of P3/P4 work. Electricity, being the newest topic taught in school, is also weak. I guess DD had not had time to \"digest\" what had been taught in class. So we spent time going through that as well.

                DD has a very short attention span. Usually she is able to concentrate on just one mock exam paper per day (ie, do carefully + pay attention as we go through corrections together). Sighzz... Hopefully what we lack in quantity will be made up by quality work done...

                  My gal just did her school SA1 Maths paper for 2012, so demoralising. Not sure if this is a good time to get her to do mock paper now…she has been scoring16/20 -18/20 for her past few topical tests…but this SA1 mock paper…I think she only manage to get 60+…

                  For Science, she just finished Electricity last week…and the topical test was badly done…guess no time to revise…this week I have to brush up her electricity and also on P3/P4 topics…but really no time…

                        Looks like many of us are in the same boat, and in choppy waters.

                        Let's hang on tight and ride out the storm. Keep each other company, give moral support and enjoy our journey. :rahrah:
