internal consumption more important than skin for me. skin i still have moisturiser to my rescue. hehe
Yes, there are filters for the washing machine just that most people are not aware of.
The hassle is having to change the filter every 3-4 months due to the frequent usage of washing machine, which most household use at least once a day.
I believe one set is about $80 or something close to that. -

Yes, most quality water filter filters out chlorine, unless you are using only a cloth. The one I had stated officially that it removes chlorine more than 90%.

Without alkaline feature it will be much cheaper.
I did my research prior and the advice I had is, if you are really into water filtration system, look for those that </= 0.01 micron filter ability.
The cheapest option is like I did before just tie a cloth around the tap outlet.
& yes does not mean the more expensive it is the better it is. at the end of the day, we still have our own preference and budget constraints to consider.
& if you are only looking at no boiling or hot & cold water, search under \"water dispensers\" category.
I am no expert. Just from my own personal purchase experience. Hope that helps.
It is the quality of the active carbon, sediment, and filtration quality, and technology behind the filter that determines the differences in cost and quality.
An example of the components that water filter filters out:

Hi radiantmum, is the water jet from the shower head strong enough? I've bought a filtered water ion shower head some years back and found that the water coming out is too little. Did not use it in the end, money wasted. Pl advise as I'm looking for one that's more \"powerful\" in terms of water jet. Thanks. -

hi sunflower,
powerful enough and therapeutic for me too cos water jets out like fine needles.
i was worried about that too 'cos I was told higher filtration will compromise on the water flow output but heng, no issue.
again, not sure if the benefits as miraculous as claimed but for the promo price I got it, treat it as spa if it does work lor. -

That looks like a sediment filter where only larger particles are removed. If it can remove even the smallest particles, it'll be choked in no time judging by the size of the filter.

Most sediment filter can be cleaned by 'backwash', ie, reversing the flow of the water, or scrubbing the element if you are able to access it. But there is a limit no. of times you can do that before the filter becomes ineffective. -
There are many filters sold here that are developed and made in Malaysia. From what I read some time back, most do not go through any kind of certification to determine how effective are their filters against their claims, so buyers beware!
