....perhaps u could check yr dds student handbook, theres a possibility that a PV could have pasted it in one of the pages..
The students handbook is very important and has to be brought everyday, yr grl will have to jot down important notes like ..what to bring or do, at times the teacher will write in the booklet ie if theres any complain or even paste some info in the book. U should look into the handbook every day and try not to loose it , some teachers can get quite sticky abt it.
As for the health booklet, the school will keep it for a short while, after they go tru their health check and jab, it will be returned.
Regarding the spelling list, its almost immediate for some classes, well at least before the week ends, my dd used to get both list during the first three days. -

btw for do you all let your girl bring an extra PE t-shirt to change after the PE lesson ? while having the PE lesson, do they keep the pinafore inside their school bag ?
My girl's name tag is not ready yet and thus her pinafore is not labelled yet. I have stick a label there myself but worried that she might misplace her pinafore. Any reason why while wearing PE attire they still need to put on the pinafore ?
Sorry as being asking all these routine questions as all these seem very new to me... :?

Hi Ming,
DD settled in okay?
Agree with Moonee about the Handbook -it's a rich source of information and/or instructions as some teachers do not communicate very often through email
(There's a spectrum coz her MT teacher was an incessant forummer and thus replies and sends emails late into the night
- my kinda gal).
Parents, also don't forget the Home-School Agreement found on Page 44 of the Parent's Handbook. Strange that DD didn't come back with a copy yet this year.
The EL spelling list arrived yesterday too, as did required confirmation on (1) Personal Particulars (from P1 last year); and
(2) Contact details (again from last year's Social Studies worksheet).
She's got her last year's Form Teacher. What about the rest? -
Just joined KSP and wanna introduce myself to the networking group. My daughter is in RGPS P3. Is it true that there is no streaming into P3 this yr? a few months b4 school closed, I remembered a circular mentioned they will be streamed according to multi-talents (depends on what subj they are stronger), later, Tr said they are put randomly into a class. The question is, if it is random, why bother to split the students into diff classes, must as well promote the whole class into P3 together? anyone could enlighten me?

My girl is totally enjoying school. So far have not seen any spelling list. She is in 1G. She says that her form teacher Miss Eng is both her English and Chinese teacher. Not sure if that is true. And said that they had math lessons yesterday. Asked her what they did. She said teacher only went through numbers 1-10 with them. DS heard that and went like huh, you in P1 or N1?
-
Ok take back the no spelling list thing. DD just came back with her spelling list for English.
The teacher attached a timetable in her handbook. And just as I suspected, Miss Eng is her chinese teacher only not for both English and chinese.
Just to confirm, they do not have any English Textbook right? -
funz: yup no text book for p1.. even for my P6.. carry less weight on their back
the only thg is my gal's PE is on 3 consecutive days
with only 2 sets of PE attire.. got to really wash & dry fast -
Dear all,
Wishing to seek your advice on CCA.
Anyone of you with girls participating in CCA during P1 and P2 ?
If any of your girls have joined swimming as a CCA, pls kindly share your experience, e.g. venue, is it conducted by an external trainer, the quality etc.
Since I have converted to part time working arrangement starting this year, thought of signing up my P1 girl for at least 1 CCA, 1st shortlist will be swimming, choir or dance.
Thank you
Rgds,
Ming
