      btw, I find that TAS is more effective for kids who are quick and able to grasp the idea fast. Kids who are slower may end up struggling to catch up becos the pace is very fast and the contents they cover each lesson a lot. Also, their worksheets tend to be quite tough - so do encourage your child if they didn’t get correct answers (I like to think of mistakes being learning opportunities so I don’t bat eyelashes when DS come back with loads of errors).


      So yes, although there are positive stuff being said online, do go for a trial lesson to see if your child enjoys. Not all will benefit.

      Last thing is, due to class size, the classrooms can get pretty crampy. Not everyone likes that.

        Best is to go for trial class. TAS work is tough, teachers are willing to stay back to help so far in my experience. My child went for two lessons a week for a while to catch up. The second lesson was half the price of the first. I appreciate all the extra effort. However, having said that, I do know that their work is still challenging. Not saying the weak ones will not be able to handle but they need a lot of home support also.


        Which other centres are you looking at?

          May I know what is the class size for TAS? For the composition part, does the teacher identify the weakness of the child during the marking?

              My understand that they did a bit on oral when it is near to exam but to the extend of conducting one to one during lesson. They go through with the children how to tackle the conversation.

                I can’t recall class size but it’s anything from 12 to 16. yes, I agree the teachers are generally helpful and I still remain impressed with them for being able to provide good feedback to parents. If a child has problems, the teacher may ‘catch’ hold of the parent to feedback; else parents can always speak to teacher after class to request for info.


                Marking wise, at times they practise peer marking. eg spelling could be marked by their neighbours in class.

                Oral. Kids are given a topic to prepare. I believe during class, teachers will also guide them on what to include. but I’m guessing here.

                  If you are willing to settle for a weekday class, the number of students will be lesser.

                      Teacher Esmonde, Joyce, Elaine are good. So far, I know these few teachers for weekdays.
