All About Travelling Pregnant Or With Kids

mummy2008:
Depends on what you go there for. Bali is famed for massages - go there you cannot massage. I was there with my kids when they were much younger - kids enjoyed themselves at the various pools in hardrock hotel. There was one particularly for babies so DS2 was able to enjoy also (he was 1 y/o then).I am thinking of vacation during school holiday in March.
Bali is a good place for me (pregnant in second trimester) + 3yrs DD + hubby ?
thinking of 4D3N
Please advise

Brainkid, thanks for the encouragement. How old was your DS when you bring him to Melbourne?Mrs Ang:
My DD is 15 mth and she can't keep still. She will move non-stop during the 30 mins bus/taxis journey in Singapore. Therefore I don't have confidence to bring her on a few hours flight journey. Anyone have experience dealing with this? Thanks.
Mrs Ang, GO for it! If you are not confident, get a helper (in-laws, parents along). It is a great eye-opener for kids. My DS can pronouce \"AEROPLANE\" fluently when he was back...GO for it! -

I know your apprehension on bringing your DD on her maiden trip.I was like you...Too protective. There is always a first time.
You just need to pluck your courage somewhere.
By the way, try to plan it light...less shopping...I think you should try a 2-3 hour trip. I will be travelling with DS to Phuket for a short holiday. Will recommend you if it is good. -
Brainkid:
Thanks Brainkid! When are you going to Phuket? My DH doesn't have the confident too so we may just end up in Sentosa hotel for 2D1N :oops:14 months!!!:D

Hi Ms Ang,
I went to Phuket Kamala Beach, stayed at Sunwing Resort. You can see my comments on tripadvisor.
Well, my ds was afriad of sand, sea and sun...Argh...He is a city boy. Wrong move. Too afraid of the sand. I bought my maid along this time but he was all clingy to me. I was alright with that and treat it as the next exposure to him.
But I will not stop that and my next trip will be Japan or HK where the weather is more baby friendly.
Ms Ang, hope to see you on the same flight as me one day with your little ones. -
Wisky I used lemons from the stewardess they work a treat

Dear Mrs Ang,
We travelled with our DD when she was 15months, chose a night flight so fed milk and sleep. And brought her fav big pictorial books, toys, doodle board, etc on board and kept her entertained. Hmmm a few hours flight she should sleep through? You’ll never know unless u try! -

HK Disney is great for younger kids. Small so less walking. The rides are quite kiddy compared to other Disneys so just appropriate for young kids. hK food is easier for our kids too. In laws will love the shopping. There is plenty, high or low end, up to you. For sight seeing can go Lantau island for the cable car ride -

Hi Mrs Ang,
What we do is to take a tiny step a time. My boy's first trip with us is to club med bintan where we only need to take ferry and it is all inclusive so we do not to worry about food, transport etc. Another similar all inclusive trip will be cruise.
For my boy's 2nd trip, we bring him to Penang, which is a very short flight away. For his third trip, we bring him to Japan which is kid friendly and for his fourth trip to Hong Kong. We intend to try US next.
We have also tried staycation which I find it's quite good for people like us with kids as it is not so hectic.
Jiayou, Mrs Ang. You can start small and go on to try other places aftervthat.
