Don't think so....I was in the batch in RJC ( first year in Paterson) and second year in Mt Sinai. Distance was never my primary consideration, as long as I like the school and it wasn't too far away like Jurong. During my time, there were no such thing as MRT to even shorten the travelling time. With MRT, provided it does not break down 😄 , it is pretty convenient to travel anyway around the island. I chose RJC for the Quality of teachers and \"Branding\"

        .
If I recall, this batch of RJC \"transition\" cohort ( 1st year Paterson, 2nd year Mt Sinai) performed even better at the A Levels than the pioneer batch that spent 2 years at Paterson campus.

Did the transition affected the A level results in anyways ? In this case no, it was even better.

I mean yes, we can only speculate about it. I am curious how the usual bunch of people will react to this post :lightrod: and demand for evidence and facts to back up a said and admitted opinion 😂
You are still harping on this ? Gosh.

To answer you. There is a difference. Careermum was of the opinion that the transistion period may affect the COP, You are of the opinion that the COP of EJC ( and all lower tier IP JC ) will fall to double digits regardless what happen, whether the school will have stellar A level results or have moved to a brand new campus

            Location :

See map of Eunoia JC, very big, huge, sprawling campus (street directory)
Behind is Bishan / Ang Mo Kio Park

            http://www.streetdirectory.com/sd_mobile/place/21037_106623/

From the map seen, nearby Secondary schools are

            Ang Mo Kio Sec
            Whitley Sec

Catholic High Junior / Sec full school
CHIJ St Nicholas Girls primary / Sec full school (a bit further up, at AMK street 13)
Yup. The new JC is at a very nice location in the park just next to the stream....think one of the MRT station in Thomson line is nearby too.

Yes, getting more & more exciting.
On Thomson-East Coast Line. It is called Bright Hill Station.
I stay nearby so I jogged there before.
About 5 to 7 min walk from mrt station to ejc. Very convenient. With such logistics convenience, ejc’s popularity will go up once it moves to the permanent campus.
I have put a red asterix on the new campus site on the map.

                More good news:

There will be a covered walkway from the mrt station to the campus. So the walk is very comfortable.

To put it fairly, besides quality teachers & a good sounding name, JC students also based their choices on the following:

                  1) Convenience (preferably near mrt station)
                  2) Age of the campus building
                  3) Morning starting time

I am sure we can’t deny the fact that the above 3 factors have contributed to nyjc’s increased popularity.

Likewise, ejc’s new campus will fulfil the 1st 2 factors that I listed.

Actually EJC starts classes at 8pm which is a good time, not too early and not too late. Good for me too as I can fetch my child to school and not end up in office too early. MOE has also indicated that they will not be building anymore new JC in the near future so EJC will be the only JC with the newest and modern campus around.

I pass by the EJC construction site the other day and the campus is really huge. Definitely eyeing this JC for my DD........

Agreed that all these factors are important too. But in terms of priority, when I applied for RJC, the quality of teachers and \"branding\" was top of the list in my consideration.

EJC starts school at 8am, which is later then most of the other JCs. I think this is the optimum time. If a JC starts later than 8am, then it would probably have to end school later.

Fully agree with Grandypa. Dats also one of der reasons I hated NYJC for  (starting lessons at 9am :siao: and end lessons at dunno wat time, sometimes even at 7.30pm for extra lessons coz cannot finish) .

FYI Hwa Chong also start at 8am and they have dedicated CT benches for self-study.

And 1 thing, look at the study areas and classrooms (dont apply into a gigantic oven and suffer every single day :rotflmao: , dats NYJC btw)
