My kakis Ejc jae divluge Ejc jae results average.
But ip commendable results helped pulled up overall results.

It’s callous to label JAE students (w/o offering any concrete proof but pure conjecture I must add) as 2nd class citizens in our IP JC.
Even in the top classes in RJC (e.g. those offering double RA), there were JAE students who qualified and IP students who didn’t. -

The school management of the JCs all know the results profile of their students - but this is not disclosed, even to the wider teacher group. I would say, unless you have heard from a JC principal/ VP/ school leader, none of us actually authoritatively know the difference in level of performance between JAEs and IP students within each school.

What is a fact is that there is a very large degree of overlap and there will be many JAE students who outperform IP students, and vice versa. If the distinction was so clear cut and PSLE is such a definitive indicator of subsequent performance, then what is the point of JAE. I totally agree that in RI, HCI and all other IP JCs, the top classes will have a mix of JAE and IP students. -

IP JCs ( EJC n a few JCs) that hv their feeder students from another sec schools prove to be more successful than JCs that hv sec level inside ( TJC, NJC, DHS, RV ). The latter stds are declining, latest being DHS.

Ejc is lucky to hv 3 renowned sec schs as its feeder partner. With 60% IP cohort inside, expectation to do well is there.
Cant can go wrong rite. -
I certainly hope so as I have a child moving on to EJC!! But it doesn’t have a track record lor, so I just have to wait and see. And I also wonder if there is a difference being in an independent school, or not.

Why yr child isnt looking forward to Ejc?
Her IP cliques/ peers all thr train to Ejc, rite. -
She’s so comfortable in her Sec Sch and likes it so much she doesn’t look forward to having to move to a new school. My DD was not from the affiliated the primary school and entered the Sec Sch IP programme; her CCA also doesn’t have many O Level programme girls. Hence most of her friends are in the IP programme. In her case, she was considering the O Level programme strongly because she didn’t know which JC she would like to go to. However, after weighing it against having to sit for the O levels, she just decided she would rather forgo the O level exam instead hahahahah! She chose the Sec Sch not because of the IP-JC partner - at that time she and we knew nothing about EJC. Since then, we’ve had a couple of church friends who graduated from EJC - 1 O level and 1 IP - both enjoyed EJC.
Don’t need to say her - my son in an IP programme, also not looking forward to Year 5. Very happy with high school life. -
