I see. Thanks for all the inputs. My gal applied for EL and Sci but results very shaky. Sometimes AL1/AL2. There was also AL3 before. Total AL also around 7-8 most of the time. No awards or other achievements. Guess low chance. 😥

DD also applied EL. She has AL 4-5 for both P5 & P6 SA 1. She has got some awards. But from what I gathered, there are many others who have similar portfolio. So we just have to try our best, if not, there is always the PSLE result. hah :xedfingers: :xedfingers:

My girl was shortlisted by NYGH - Bilingualism and SCGS for Chinese Language. But we received email from SNGS-her application was unsuccessful. Her Language is usually AL1, Math and Science AL2. This year her SA1 EL was AL2 tho.. 😅

The top AL4-5 girls from St Nick pri mostly didn’t get shortlisted by st nick ; they got shortlisted by NYGH and RGS instead . Whereas it’s the AL7-8 who got shortlisted by st Nick .

I seriously don’t know what st Nick are looking for ….

You ought to know, if your own daughter really from St Nick. Otherwise, if not from St Nick, can excuse.

Because

from past trend,
for so many years -

many of those P6 St Nick girls from the \" Top \" class end up going to (RGS / NYGH), either entered by DSA or by Tscore psle.

Their eyes are always focussed upon, turned towards these two IP schools. Moreover, the Teachers know who these girls are, because Tr have been teaching them, interacting with them for past two years in P5 and P6 so long, not just one year P6 only.

Since their heart not even turned towards their Secondary school St Nick (IP) and eventually to Eunoia Junior College, but instead turn outside externally towards (RGS / NYGH) and eventually to ( RI / Hwa Chong), school don't want to waste time short-listing these students. Rather consider some other applicants instead. We also don't want to keep people who are not loyal to St Nick. If they think they are happier, can develop much better at RGS / NYGH, is better to let these girls go, to places where they feel happier. After all, NYGH (IP) and St Nick (IP), are both SAP Secondary schools.

Does anyone know if schools are likely to hold another Open House later in the year, on top of the open houses held physically and virtually earlier this year? We’re hoping to visit Open Houses to have a better sense of school environment.

I think there will be another round for most. Last couple of years the Saturday after PSLE results are released has been busy. Physical or virtual tbd. Hopefully physical.

I'm hoping that there will be another round of an open house or parents-engagement program for schools for those fortunate enough to score a CO. The only one I know of is SOTA which has a Cohort and Parents Engagement Program in October.
