We will join too. I guess they probably will select 1 out of 2 or maybe 1 out of 3. For String Ensembles, my daughter and a classmate from the same school were invited for interview (both are violin grade 8 distinction), but her schoolmate has better scores than her… fingers crossed…
      :celebrate:
      Wish her good luck
      In the venue now, waiting
Seeing so many students from various schools all over SG makes me nervous hahaha
Like: why shortlisted can be hundreds 😰

        My 2 cents:

        - I think contents of reply in more important than fluency. So as long as the content communicated accurately across, slow is not a problem.
        - she can spend some time thinking and get to really know herself what she like/don’t like, good at/not good at. If she spend enough time and know them well (just like study well and can answer exam questions confidently, but this time is “study herself”), this may translate into impression of maturity (in adult term) in her reply during interview and may score some points. Importantly, she has to think thru them by herself and be honest. These will give the impression of “conviction” ( in adult term) during interviews. Maybe these are the “character” (in adult term) interviewers looking for.
        Thank you bbbay,
I think my DD also watching this forum closely hahaha, so many students arrived together at the same time
        Wonder how many are selected

A friend asked me, if ur child are good in academic why bother to do DSA, she/he might have wider options during S1 posting using the PSLE result, any view on this?

            Because

Academic Talent domain seats (grooming opportunities) are already snapped up or snatched by others first already by the DSA candidates,

            even though

u can still come in much later by AL score, AFTER the release of PSLE results.

Looks like u are applying via non-academic.

I will tell your friend - if a child gets to go to the school she wants and do the cca she likes, why not try secure a seat before everyone else? Dsa kids are selected by the school (that’s why they get an offer letter), while kids coming in by psle were not hand picked by the school selection committee lol. 😆

my DS wanna DSA to directly get into the sch team and enjoy their CCA for the next 4 yrs. Potential/Past champions in their sport.

 Yes you’re correct 👍 very keen observer,
My DD apply via non academic/cca talent
Her AL is somewhere around 10 🫢 so for us DSA is a good chance to try (for top 10 sch) but I also heard that the responsibility came with the confirmed seat is also not easy to juggle

I hv friend that said he regretted his DD took DSA and got in just because her PSLE was very good score so actually she could go anywhere and have other options but already tied to this some sort “obligation” hahaha

Thank you for your view on this
