Got it, thanks for sharing. How about DHS ? is it consider a IP school with no caps for DSA intake ? cos I notice although it is an IP school , it is also consider as govt-aided school hence it probably need to conform to the 20% cap ?
My child had tried DHS for the sports domain, and went for the 2nd interview last week, the teacher in-charged told them that they will be selecting only 3 girls and 3 boys (at most 1 more child but definitely not more than 7 will be selected) , n so far those whom went for 2nd interview, we asked around and found out that their avg AL are around AL10 or less.

DHS websites did indicate that they take in about 30% of total intake through DSA, in line with most IP schools.

Cap or otherwise, the schools still want to leave room for the usual academically-inclined students to come in through PSLE route.

Does anyone know of schools who might call to make verbal offers for some (confirming student’s likelihood to accept before sending a written CO) and the rest they just go straight to sending a written CO?


Or can we assume if there are people who have received a verbal offer from a certain sch then the sch would do so for all their COs… So no call means that’s it?

Yes. Last yr I remember some parents received a verbal offer from RI sports ahead of the official email from the school. DC received only an email CO for academic domain. Hope this helps.

Not all schools practised issuing verbal COs. And even if the school does, is only for certain domain, not for all domain across the board.

In our case, I know the sch n sport we are waiting for, has already issued verbal CO to some so was wondering if this means we are not in that CO list or there is still a chance that some of us might only know from the final email. Haha of course notwithstanding that some will reject verbal offer n then the 'back ups' are eventually offered but just wondering if this sch and domain is doing verbal offers, if they will do it for all on their list or possible that just some.

it all depends on the individual Sports coach. Is not compulsory that all different Sports category in the same school, must give verbal CO.

But if let's say,
within that same domain where some students confirmed already received verbal CO for say, netball, and your child also applied for netball (the same talent domain) but until now still have not received any verbal CO,
then,
your child can approach that Sports coach directly and ask coach, if got any chance ?
