Does it mean that if didn’t receive HCI rejection letter means high chance of CO or WL? Did they just send rejection to those who receive erroneous email earlier? Wonder when will they send acceptance email? -

Hi. I called RI on Friday and have gotten confirmation from them that they have yet to send any P6 CO letter/emails for all domains including hockey. They mention that any CO received should be for DSA for year 5/6 only. P6 CO will only be sent between end August and early September this year. May I clarify if the P6 CO you received is an official confirmation offer letter from RI?

Verbal confirmation could be possible if the interviewer feels the candidate is good enough and RI will likely offer. However it is not an official CO/letter which should state that your child has been given a confirmed offer in XXX domain. I believe many of our kids might have come back and mention that the interviewers said things like: ‘Given your talent and results, we will likely offer you’ or ‘wait for our good news’. These are good indicators but not official CO.

I’m just confused with some posts that state that official CO has been received when the school stated otherwise hence asking for clarification if possible. I think there are a lot of concerned parents here that would like to know if the official CO letter/email has been sent out so we know our kid’s fate.

Our kid's fate will be sealed by the official email/letter regardless if they are successful. Why let other information here gets to you? So long as your kid haven't receive the official email/letter, I would say he/she still stands a chance.

Take note,
to all successful 2023 P6 applicants, who have been successfully awarded COs or Wait lists, by the end of this DSA exercise closure (Sep).
DSA can be a double edged sword.
Meaning that,
after you have gotten admitted into Sec 1 next year via DSA,
if in the event u wish to seek Transfer out to another Secondary school, because you realised that for whatever reasons, this DSA school is not suitable, under DSA obligations, MOE will not allow u to transfer.
Thus, after PSLE is over, sit down with your child (pupil), consider very carefully, the consequences of accepting the DSA offer. By then, your child would have known roughly, whether he (she) did well in his PSLE 4 subjects, or not. -
Similarly, 6 years IP prog can lock in your JC choices, depriving them of possibilities to do well in O level to get into their dream JC. Not to forget, there are students in O level students scoring straight A1s in O levels with HMT, 2 pointers in RI college and HCI college.

The verbal might came thru phone call from the respective domain. My DS received the CO last year (Not music domain) via call before the official email from RI sent out to all domain, which I remember is rather late. I kept the verbal CO a secret to let DS focus on studying during the Sept school holiday.

Called Cath High and RI. The admin told me they will only give CO mid Sept. The waiting game is really long.
