Hi, just wondering what are the chances of being successful for Leadership DSA (CHIJ St Nicks), if my child is holding the position of Lead NE ambassador? She’s involved in many school wide activities, such as being emcee for various school events, being 1 of the 2 in the whole school to be selected for interview with Minister during school visits, and also responsible with sharing current affairs to the school.

Academics wise, I don’t think she can score in the low single digit, she is somewhere between AL 9-12, and also not in the prefectorial board.

      Thank you! 🙏🏻
From experience , St nicks does not look for the super low single digit scorers. Typically , those scoring AL4-5 does not even get an interview . And neither her do the girls necessarily need to be head prefect or head or CCA either .

I would suggest that you apply for both IP & O level track to increase your chances .

Yes since they have stated that it is the minimum requirement for consideration, then it must be true.

Read this. You should find out how to attend their dsa webinar on 18 May 2024:

            https://www.standrewssec.moe.edu.sg/dsa-2024-for-2025-sec-1-admission/

            1. They’re not even having tennis dsa. Have concert band dsa but what grade is his saxophone at right now if he just started lessons? Unlikely to be dsa-quality in time for next year’s dsa.

            2. No idea cos i’m not familiar with NE region schools. Are u eligible for SAP schools (CL/HCL as Mother Tongue?)

            3. Yes, Placement in the posting group will be based on his psle score (see the table i posted above). Successful dsa candidates will just need to score the bare minimum of the relevant posting group. Eg to enter PG2 via dsa, just need to score 25.

            4. He will only get a choice of posting group if his score happens to fall at the borderline option band indicated in the table above. So 21-22 gets to choose G3 or G2, and 25 gets to choose G2 or G1. Nobody else is entitled to choose.[/quote]
Thank you very much for your kind explanation.
I just realized that this year they don't have Tennis, it was there last year

              DSA RI Math

              My child's Math award

              1.RIPMWC  P5 Distinguish

2.RMO P6 Merit (did not do well at trial as too many homework. He did it in the midnight of the last day of deadline)

              3.NMOS P5 Bronze

              4. Numerous ICAS/Reach: Outstanding/ Merit since P3 after passing GEP round 1

P5 School transcript (math1, science 2, English 5, Chinese 5). But he is top 3 in his class

Any chance for RI DSA Math?

              Any suggestion?

              Thank you very much.
I’ll be very honest with you coz I don’t want to waste one of your 3 slots . Your chance for math academic DSA to RI is not high . Cuz not only do they look for one of the top in Singapore for math , they look at the rest of the subjects for both p5 & p6 (as stated in RI website and from my son’s experience a few years ago).

In my son’s year , the Math DSA boys are the top 3 in Singapore.

Yes. This was communicated at the open house as well.

Has anyone experienced or heard friends/relatives’ experience of DSA innovation to SJI? My old neighbour said SJI gives preferences to applicants with some connection to the school. Is that true? Should we waste our choice on this school? DS scores around AL15 and has completed Nullspace Lego Spike Prime and Arduino. But no time for innovation projects. He represented his primary school in robotics competitions NRC, FLL, roborumble, Hackathon, IDE but did not win anything. His school is not strong in robotics and does not have a strong teacher to guide the students in robotics.
