slmkhoo, I agree with u. I would rather have a hard and fast time to curb the spread than now adding pain little by little.[/quote]I fully support a quick lockdown as I noticed ppl gets complacent & so many ppl bullying Social-distancing Ambassadors, it’s really a shame. Was just commenting to hubby knowing the B1617 virus variant is highly contagious & instead of complying with authorities (& authority’s rep), they wld challenge these conscientious ambassadors. Not easy to be diplomatic & yet execute.
No, not a lot of difference, but there is still some difference! During CB (as far as I remember, may not be exactly accurate), most shops had to close, only essential workers could go out to work, only 1 person could go out to buy food, and no visitors. So if the virus still spreads under the current measures, there is still more they can restrict!slmkhoo\" post_id=\"2024255\" time=\"1621211990\" user_id=\"28674:

There’s not much difference between a full circuit breaker & the rules from Wed onwards, is there?
The shops and eateries may still be open, but if there’s only takeaway & only 2 by 2 customers max at a time, I don’t see how much more the virus can be curbed. The vulnerable will be staying at home anyway. -
My daughter just received a notification that NTU convocation has been postponed. I was wondering if this would happen! I expect NUS will also do the same.

slmkhoo, any idea if the UK universities are postponing graduation ceremonies?

I think it depends on the university? I only know that my daughter will have some kind of no-guests ceremony. I haven't heard details yet, and anyway, since I'm here, it doesn't affect me! Though they may do a livestream. In any case, UK is loosening up, and hoping to remove restrictions by 21 June. So I would expect graduation ceremonies of some sort will be carried out. It's not easy to postpone in countries like the UK as many students live far away. Not as easy as Singapore where most students live within easy reach.

For NUS, the Yale-NUS College (Liberal Arts) graduation ceremony was held virtually.

I saw this in the news and thought the guest speaker’s speech was pretty good:

I have mixed feelings about the postponement. On the one hand, it would be better to have the graduation, online or whatever, sooner rather than later, to mark the end of the university journey. On the other hand, it would be nice, as parents, to be able to be physically present at at least one graduation!

Yes, there is significant improvement this year this time round - for one, ClassDojo is implemented in school, so communication with school teachers is seamless. My dd is also much savvier, & manages her online learning independently. We did not experience SLS issues yesterday, but today there were Zoom hiccups. Fortunately, they have incorporated other platforms (Google classroom, Flipgrid...)emoh\" post_id=\"2024589\" time=\"1621397560\" user_id=\"10618:
Nothing crucial was missed I believe...even if there were live Zoom lessons, they can be rescheduled.https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/moe-student-learning-space-down-online-home-based-learning-14838502
I very much liked this post I saw on FB.

Any good massage place for recommendations that is wallet friendly too? Been rather burnt out with WFH and kids HBL lately.

You can try Healing Touch (many outlets all over SG). Their prices are wallet friendly. And they are offering 10% discount now that there are fewer customers.

You may want to consider something like Ogawa Shiatsu…small, portable, lasting, cheap and works well (at least for me). I been using for almost 10yrs.
