ngl2010, I cut the melon into about 1.5cm thick and dig out the seeds.

Thank you, Star and MKS. I usually dig out the seeds too until last week I bought sharkfin melon that has just too many seeds that I gave up digging and only removed the seeds after it was cooked.

At supermarket, I choose those with lesser seeds to save some work. -

I usually steam the melon first. After steam remove seeds and flesh then add to soup stock.

Why do you steam the melon first Funz? Is it solely to remove the seeds?

We prefer the melon fully in shreds instead of in chunks in the soup. Guess can boil also but was taught to steam first so that has been how I’ve been cooking the melon.
