Target to get back to affiliated school sounds like a good idea, kids these days like easily stressed. Hope they can also learn to adapt and learn to take it in their stride.

Yes for me esp for kids who do not have special likes towards something, if have affiliation can just aim for it.

Hi-5 sky! UG = uniform group? My DS is also in a UG and he loves it (more for the group socialization aspect. Other responsibilities are a bonus) Also hope to continue same UG in secondary school![/quote]
Today one of the graduated UG seniors came back to 母校 to say hi & lead some fun games during CCA.

DS noticed the senior was in the affiliated secondary school uniform, so he asked him a million & one qns about that school and the UGs there, school envt, canteen food etc etc. Seems like he’s convinced what’s over there on the other side waiting for him, clearer what he’s aiming for now. I’m so happy to see some self-motivation on his part. Sometimes hearing from seniors’ experience is the most convincing.

Hope yr young man hv direction & a purposeful goal to aim fr henceforth. Prepare him to work towards it & give off his best & let God do the rest (as they say). Whatever the outcome, just focus & take one step at a time. Keep his motivation active.

That’s the value of affiliation. Every year, these visits fr the 大哥哥 triggers strong resolve for the young boys resolve to wirk hard towards the mark! The teachers will usually get them to write what they wish to see themselves achieve working on their PSLE.

IMO, not all schools are the same. Those with affiliation seems to give some connection that ground the young students’ feelings of connectedness to a bigger family. Unlike schools w/o history or legacy. Just saying.

I like schools that are affiliated with institutions or programs that will help our students apply what they have learned and connect more to people and to the society. It is a way that they will build confidence and independence.

Is your child’s exams before or after Mother’s Day? Some fellow mums said previous years couldn’t enjoy their Mother’s Day cos need to nag exam prep.

This year, DS exams happen to finish before the Mother’s Day weekend. Dunno what he has planned for me tho!
