They will mail u a physical card (or 2, or 3…) that is linked to your app account. No need tap the card to top up. I use ApplePay to top up in my phone, not sure android got what other options to top up. U can read here, i think can use Google Pay, credit card & bank account to top up:

      Thanks zac's mom.

My DS prefers to use cash in school canteen. The debit card is for his lunch outside with friends. Sometimes he uses Grab pay app (where available, like McD or Burger King), but if HP no battery then he uses this R physical debit card.

Credit card will be very dangerous in the hands of teenagers lol…especially if they decide to use it for online shopping…[/quote]
While chatting..it does hit me that I shouldn't give access too easily. Give is easy take back will be difficult.

Zac's mom, for Revolut card..firstly, I need download the app (on my hp so that dd can have lesser app on her hp). I just imagine..like ezlink card top up, we place card on my hp to top up? Then where do we get the physical card after installing the app?
yes download app , and apply. i think very fast one ,coz the card is zero amt - no future credit.
If u need to use, u top up - very safe when we travel, even card lost or stolen also never mind as this is not link to any credit and bank acct facility

my children have revoult card too for outside expenses , even when we travel overseas , they can use.
in sch, dd still use cash. for a start, dh put $50 to $100 into dd revoult card.
u can also use Youtrip card.

Exploring card for dd1. Usually what card do you give dc for cashless and convenience but with control in spending. Now they only have ezlink card.
I got my daughters a debit card linked to their POSB accounts (I think it was also an ATM card). I didn't give them supplementary cards, and definitely not any form of credit cards. Too tempting when they are young. I used PayNow to give them pocket money.

Your girls Debit card has minimum spending requirement and also annual fee?

The paywave function is very very useful. Eg occasionally they will go dine Subway/Saizeriya, or dabao Mr Coconut/Old Chang Kee/bubble tea, all these just tap and pay.

No minimum spend or annual fee. Can't remember if there was a minimum balance for the bank account, but I think there's no requirement if it's a child's account.

You should definitely start a monthly allowance system for your daughters. They will not be able to learn budgeting if they don't practise. If you pay their allowance into their bank accounts, you can set an automatic transfer from your bank account to theirs, so you won't need to remember each month.
