oki so will mainly depend on his results praying hard he will do well enough and from now start waking up now hes in his own land aka xmas land dreaming of what presents hes going to get.

As for me is now see no evil hear no evil talk no evil as dh has step in to push this lazy snake forward.

below will be the 3 choices i will be making so is best to aim for at least 260 to get in base on this yr cop right?
      DHS\t 255
      CHS \t 252
      SJI \t 251
Getting at least 260 SHOULD be quite safe. If your son has special talent, try DSA. My friend successfully applied for DSA(basketball) at DHS this year. He scored only 219 but he still can go there. He also said as long as he get at least 200, he can go DHS. Lucky....

Seriously, DSA and getting in with a 219 score is not a good option.....the kid will have a hard time catching up in the school, and he is also expected to contribute to the CCA which will be even more time consuming for him. If his score is in the 240s, I would say it is ok as he probably can still catch up if he works hard. 21x is too far off from the cohort (if you look at the median, it is probably ~258?). As DHS is a IP school, there is minimal cut-off to maintain yearly, else he cannot be promoted to next year.

By the way, is it Dunman High School or is it Dunman Secondary? Is your friend's kid performing way below his usual standard or is he at this standard all the while in Pri school? I am surprised IP school accepting kids via DSA Sports at this standard which is so far off from the school's standard. Usually, they will still take into consideration the kid's academic to ensure they are able to catch up and cope with the rest of the cohort!

Though I think some ip schools require at least 250?

Yes, once school makes a DSA offer to a student, they will have to take in the student as long as he / she qualifies for their Express stream (which is 200).

But for IP school, during DSA exercise, they will not only consider the student's Sport's achievement, in addition they will also look into the academic aspect (though the emphasis on academic may not be as demanding) to ensure the student will be able to cope with the demanding IP curriculum once he / she enters the secondary school. If the student is constantly way below the academic standard, I do not think the IP school will make the DSA offer even if he / she is at the top of her sports achievement! This is a responsible move as the student will suffer if he / she does not meet the grade in secondary school subsequently.

Of course, there is a possibility of the student being constantly on par in academic aspect but due to special circumstances had an \"accidental huge drop\" in PSLE. In this case, the student might still get DSA offer from the IP school, but ended up entering the school at a much lower score. I think the student will still perform well in that secondary school as the PSLE score is just an accident and his / her academic level is on par with what the school reuqires.

I hope the student is just a one-off \"accidental\" performance at PSLE and he will cope well with the IP syllabus in DHS!

Honestly from my point of view i will rather aim for final results then DSA cause if he really does not do well and he enters hes going to suffer the rest of his school journey imagine, being taunt when his classmates ask him for his plse score and if they hear that he got in thorugh DSA with a lower then what is expected COP hes going to be laugh at.

Thats why i been telling my son u may think u are suffering now think of the end where u will reap the benefits.

Its xmas and i am home coaching him one on one whereas my family has left to celebrate xmas at my godmother house, i told my boy xmas every yr also have but psle is a one in a lifetime thing is either u nail it high which u can or u can just heck care and throw everything away just like that.

Oh dear! You sound so stress. He will not do badly due to enjoying himself on Christmas Day. Give yourself & the big a well deserved break. Merry Christmas.
