Sorry for posting this here but somehow I cannot open a new Forum page. Does anyone know if it is possible to transfer to another JC after completing 4 years at an IP school? I have heard of successful cases and is planning to contact the JC. What other criteria must be met for the transfer to happen?

DS has a friend who DSAed to Year 1 and at the end of Year 4 he DSAed again to another JC because he was unable to cope with the IP school. He is in JC1 now. So, I guess it is possible (unless if MOE change their rules next year). I don’t know what criteria must be met. You’d better contact the JC you want to go to.

When did this incident happen ?

Happened more than 5 years ago, or happened only this year (2018 January)?
        .
Your son know this friend personally, or hearsay from his friends' friend ?

For your son's friend who was unable to cope with his initial IP school through DSA, and is now in JC1 (2018), is his friend currently studying in another IP JC, or in a non-IP JC, through a 2nd DSA ?

Seems like 2nd DSA, is the answer (solution) to getting out (escape) of the first DSA IP school. Smart move ! Use a 2nd DSA to counteract, to nullify and void the 1st DSA contract signed.

I enquired with AJC end 2017. My DD was in IPJC school for Y1-Y4. She got in via PSLE scores not via DSA. However I was told that no IP student will be admitted to AJC or any other JC to complete JC1 and JC2 unless it is via DSA. If you do not have a DSA offer you cannot change JCs if you are in an IP affiliated school. Some of her classmates in JC1 this year opted to study in UK instead of completing JC1 and JC2.

I think one shouldn’t accept a DSA CO thinking that there will always be an escape route. Policies change all the time. Must accept DSA CO with open eyes.

Sounds like IP schools are quite restrictive! Why, I don't know. Maybe it's to temper the smart ones who use IP schools as their weapons to get what they want 😆

For IP transfer, if across different curriculum, eg. From A-level to IB, had come across.

But the other way round, from IB at end of Year 4, into Year 5 A-level, is rare. Wonder if the transition, from IB into A-level, will be challenging

                        Hi All:

Does anyone know whether IP schools will accept MTL exempted kids (medical reasons), but whose adjusted T-score meets the cut-off point?
                        Grateful for any advice.
