Integrated Programme (IP)
-
As slmkhoo says, it is probably on a case by case basis. This is probably because the majority of IP students will complete their IP programme and the programme is not designed with the intention for students to have to exit.

Yes. DS has a friend that went to poly after year 4 in IP but he doesn't know how the friend applied.
Hi not sure if correct thread to ask this... I
Is there an avenue to apply for polytechnic admission after year 4 in IP? Thanks -

Under the admissions section of each poly website, they show the application process and required grades for someone who finished Year 4 of IP. If you call or email them about course admissions I am sure they would be able to help you. Hope this helps.

Different Polytechnics will have its own admission procedures / application processes. Just visit their website, look for Admission. one example below:

Hi, can anyone confirm this for me? Was speaking with another parent on DSA IP and was told that the Commitment to those Cedar Girls or St Nicholas Girls IP is only to the Secondary School. Meaning they can actually opt to enrol in another JC should they want to at the end of Sec 4?

The cca commitment is 4 years, the school commitment is 6 years, cannot change JC but can change CCA.

My impression is that MOE has made it next to impossible to switch out of the IP-partner JC, not just for DSA kids, but all kids in the IP programme.

That would be the case. When entering the IP route (as opposed to the O'levels route), regardless whether via DSA to a particular secondary school, it's for that school's 6 year program leading to the GCE A-Level examination or International Baccalaureate Diploma or the NUS High School Diploma.

Thanks for the response. Its also my impression. But is there anything to stop a student from switching if her grades are good enough and the IP JC she is supposed to go to releases her? I am curious if the IP JC even has a say?

No, MOE clamped down on this practice.
