we are thinking of transferring our child to the Pri 3 class this year, would be grateful if any parent of Pri 3 student could provide feedback of the teacher and class. Thanks loads!

Hi, Would like to find out how many P1 classes are there and what is the number of students in each class?

There are 7 classes of P1 this year. Each class has about 30 students. If am not wrong, 2011 intake was full during the last phase of registration last year. Heard need balloting in Phase 3.

Thanks. How are the teachers there and are there a lot of homework? Noticed that there is very few CCAs now.

DS hardly brings homework home. During one of the sharing session, the principal did mention that they don’t encourage giving homework to student. The school wants to nurture an all-rounded student not academic-based student.


So far, DS has been doing well in school. His teacher is willing to try new things with the class. She implemented "student-buddy" system in class. I like the idea as it fosters helping and caring relationship between the students.

The work is meant to be done during class. If cannot complete, the children will then bring the work home to finish. My child hardly brings any work back.


There are not many CCAs now as the school is only in its second year of operation.

what are the chances of getting into this school? I believe it's not difficult as compared to others as it's new? any PV required? need to register my son next year.

Based on past years' statistics, there were vacancies right up till Phase 3. Hence, you are right in saying \"it's not difficult as compared to others...\". However, this assumes the future will follow past years' trends.

Dear parents at Cantonment Pri that got your DD/DS enrolled in phase 3 - would you mind sharing the number of vacancies vs. number of applicants for phase 3 in 2010 and 2011? I heard 2011 needed balloting in phase 3 - but what was the competition rate like? Thanks.

My DD needs to go to primary school next year and we live within 2 km of the school. What is the chances of getting into the school as foreigner? Can someone give me an input on this? We will definitely fall under phase 3. I was just wondering if one's residency status is considered before considering home-school distance at this phase? :frustrated:
