      Sentence Re-arranging.

Rearrange the following words into a sentence.

"he missed because he late was the bus"

Answer 1 : He missed the bus because he was late.
Answer 2 : He was late because he missed the bus.

Grammatically, the answer should be #2. He was late. (The reason is because he missed the bus).

If this question was tested in P3 under ‘Synthesis & Transformation’, the answer would definitely be #2. The question would be:
He missed the bus. He was late (because).

Daughter's P1 booklist recommended Learners Basic English Grammar (blue) but it doesn't include vocab like 'collective nouns', 'similes'. Was thinking if there is a 2 in-1 (Grammar and Vocab).
BTW, is Essential Eng Grammar for P3/4 ?

                    Hi plum-cake,

OMG, I didn't seriously explore the book yet...yes, P42 is on collective nouns.

Just found a reference book for lower primary. It's from Teachers' Production. Has a chapter on 'Animals and their young' as well as the sounds/movements. But the blue Basic is a good recommendation from the school.

                        Hi plum-cake,

The copy I have is from a friend (photocopied set)…so I’ve got no idea what the colour of the cover is.
After embarrassing myself, I went through the Basic Eng Grammar to check out its contents. This book is not bad on the whole where grammar is concerned but will need Teachers’ Productions for its vocab section.
