      Hi all,

thanks so much for your kind sharing.

Considering all the options, have included St Nick as one of the option.

      Thanks again.

        Hi,

Need some kind advice here. Initially i thought i had it all worked out until my daughter's friends and teacher start advicing my daughter on her choice. My dd score is 249+2 and below is our initial choice:

        1) DH IP (Last year COP 256, 5points off)
        2) Cedar IP (Last year COP 258, 9Points off as HMT 2 points not applicable)
        3) Cedar Express (Last year COP 249)
        4) SCGs Express (Last Year COP 248)
        5) AH Express (Last year COP 243)
        6) TKGs Express (Last year COP 235)

I know DH and Cedar IP is a far shot but we understand that there are 8 more schools offering IP, does that translate to more vacancies? Then again i also recognise that there are more children this year, being the dragon year. Is my choices wise?

My daugther's friends and teachers adviced her to drop her 1st two choices but we would like to try and will it impact her chance of getting into 3th or 4th choice if someone with same score put 3rd or 4th as their first choice. how likely will there be another student with the same score as my ds, quite likely me think?

Really headache.. deadline is tomorrow and still considering. faintz.

Will greatly appreciate any kind advice from people who knows how this thing really works.. Thanks

DHS and Cedar IP are out of your league. You will need at least 250 to try for any IP school, so given your dd's score of 249+2, her only option for IP is a SAP school and a new SAP school = SNGS IP. Your third and fourth choices are okay. It seems a waste to put AHS ahead of SCGS, which is a very good school and until recently had COPs of low 250s.

A few years back, a couple of students with 249+2 t-scores manage to get into RV for IP and are doing very well thereafter, even better than students with 260+ scores. One of the parents is still in the RV's thread.

I am not trying to ask you to place RV as a choice as i guess you might be staying in the eastern side. Just trying to let you know that lower t-scores may well turn out doing better later and there are such examples.

When comparing the different schools, I think we should compare the % of pupils with 250+ and the mean scores of the schools. We also should exclude the GEP students of the school since they are originally from different schools and they should be 250+ in any way. Including these factors, maybe you will find many schools may not be that good as it appears. I think Rulang or Aitong is better than NY or Nan Hua, after all if you child can enter GEP, she/he can get high score in any school.

I am totally agreed with you. :rahrah:

No. NY didn't reveal the % scoring 240 and above. Do you have the stats? But in any case, I am more concerned about 250 and above which suits me fine.

Nobody to answer our questions. Don't know where to find the answers.Very stunned n puzzled.
My daughter was in the top 10 range in her school. Now the others who were far behind has overtaken her.
Now I know how the hare, in the tortoise and hare story, felt after the tortoise had won(though we did not fell asleep like the tortoise).
Same goes to my boy. His good friends who were far behind have overtaken him by 8 to 9 points. I think sometime luck plays a part.
