I have the greatest respect for the parents. Such kids are usually genius by nature. However, to be able guide, coach, coax,...them to deliver such fantastic results is no easy feat - a miracle to me. Will be great if the parents can share details on what they have gone through so that we will understand how fortunate we are.

this boy from Pathlight is really a miracle, esp. coming from a Special need child.

I salute him, and also salute his parents.
ST reporter should interview how they raise him up.

I've a few questions, not sure if it's appropriate to post it here:

1) with the same T-score, will my 1st choice will be of higher priority than your 2nd choice?

2) Is everyone offered Malay/Arabic for 3rd language?

3) My child is eligible for SAP school. But he didn't meet the MOE's requirement of MT = A* or HMT <= MERIT. Does it mean if he goes to SAP, he will do Normal MT? I also heard that some SAP schools offer only HMT. Thus, does it mean then the MOE's requirement will be overriden?

1. Posting is based on merit, not on your choice vs my choice. So, when it comes to your child's turn, the system will look at his choices accordingly and post to whichever that still has vacancies. If all his 6 choices are full, then, he will be post to the nearest sec school from his home address which still has vacancy.

2. No, not everyone is offered 3rd language. Top 10% offered all the 3rd Lang, including french, German and jap. Then the next x% will be offered only Malay, Arabic, etc.

3. Not too sure. Maybe should call the school to ask. I thought the requirements are not that stringent.

1) But how does the system determine my turn if more than 2 children have the same T-score? That's why I heard ones's 1 choice has a higher priority than another's 2nd choice.

2) Is it worth to take up 3rd language? My child has no interest in language, but I thought it's useful to take up Malay as in Singapore we have the environment to practise it.

3) Went to a SAP school today and a student told us that in the school everyone by default will do HMT.

Pathligh School hyperactive autistic child - He Weijun, obtain a score of 273 in PSLE.

His mother (41-year-old marketing officer) said that when her son was 3 years old - if he did not get he want, he will hit his head against a wall. As parents, they felt at a loss uncomfortable.

At the age of 5, he was confirmed suffering from Asperger's Syndrome (autistic disorder).
He also suffer from hyperactivity disorder.

When Weijun was Primary One student in Pathlight School, Vice-Chancellor, Li Xiaomei said - Weijun had short attention span, he can only maintain for 15 minutes focus / concentration each time, and he had mood swing. The teacher had to let him take a break during class lessons.

In Primary 3, whenever Weijun feel unable to concentrate in class, he’ll exercise initiative to ask for rest. Today, he can focus for one hour. The situation has improved significantly.
