I thought that the paper was easy but then my marks was unexpected low... What Happened?? :? :?:
-
Sad person,
I recall a year when I thought I aced a paper. Turned out there were too many careless mistakes and I got a very mediocre mark. Could tell the disappointment in my tutor’s face. It was a huge embarrassment.
Since then I’ve learnt not to take anything for granted and check, double check, cross check. Other exam skills like going through the paper quickly and leaving those toughies to the end (circle/mark the question number so don’t omit).
This is just one exam, there will be more significant ones to come. Take in lessons learnt. Not to savor but apply.
There may be kids who just don’t do we’ll in exams. So be it. There is a niche for everyone. The one who didn’t do well in psle this year may go on to be SG’s greatest scientist yet, or a major bizman in future.
Learn where your strengths are and use your gifts wisely. All the best to you! -

Frankly tinwhoong.... if MOE really tracks that. I rather they use their resource to track P1 registration address cheaters....
MOE should use her precious resources not just track down who are the P1 registration address cheaters, but also to seek out sex maniac teachers roaming around inside the schools.
Because both these type commit a grave crime ! They are far more important, crucial tasks on hand for MOE to act on. -
Some observations for this year PSLE results:
1) NYPS alone, about 43 students score 270 and above this year. My observation is that there are too many of them this year as compared to 2011. (this is about the figure for the whole nation last year, I could be wrong and please feel free to correct me and clarify.)
2) Same observation of having many who has scored 270's in other top primary schools too.
3) It looks like many neighborhood schools are producing some top performers who have scored 270's now.
What does that tell us? Hmmm :scratchhead:
Anyone can weigh in?
The list is going to be like:
+ It looks like Neighborhood schools are not bad after all.
+ Cut off point in top sec schools will go up? :yikes: n go on...

Wonderdad:
Yes dropouts like Steve Jobs, Zuckerberg, William Gates were all extremely successful. But they are in the US. Reality is that life for a dropout or even one who has completed just a mediocre education in Singapore will be very difficult.Sad Person:
I am very sad that I didn't do we'll and my mom keeps on scolding me :spank: that I should have done better
Any way to comfort me?
There are many successful persons in the world who are school dropouts. Steve Jobs was one of them. Did he give up? He didn't, else you wouldnt be seeing all those cool Apple toys people around you or even maybe yourself are playing with now.
Exams like PSLE is just one of the many hurdles in life. There are many challenges ahead. Dont let just 1 failure (to score well) to dent your life. There are many chapters ahead. You just have to be positive and use this as an important lesson in life and work towards improving your results or achieving what you set out to do in life.
Cheer up, young man.
Life's beautiful ahead.

When comforting others, please be responsible and don't quote dropouts. Almost all cannot make it in Singapore. Would you or any parent here let their kids dropout to test if they can succeed in the future? :scared: -

2) enrichment centres?
3) kiasuparents
1) all schools have become good schools
2) More students attending enrichment centres or the enrichment centres have become much better than last year
3) Kiasuparent's spirit have gone up and hit the top notch this year :yikes: or there are more kiasuparents than last year.
From 2011 to 2012, the transition is unbelievably significant!
Or there are something else? like T-score calculation adjustment? -

That's true, Stressedguy. If only you know a bit more about Way2GO. I won't be surprised if the top scorer tuned out to be his own son. We have come to know what he is capable to!

From 2011 to 2012, the transition has went up way over the top and unbelievably significant!
Or there are something else? like T-score calculation adjustment?[/quote]Maybe there is a grouping of adjusted scores like 260 and above one group, 230 to 250 one group, 210 and below one group and not many scores in-between so that it is easier to make secondary school choices.
