Hi Chrisbear, yes we hv rec'd the letter last week. We can reach the school anytime from 9am-12noon this Sat. Basically it's a simple letter to inform us that we can purchase uniforms, and arrange with the bus operator on that day. We also get to meet their form teacher cos it stated the name of the class for our DD. We are also encouraged to bring the child along for this orientation.

Maybe you can call the school again to double check? 🙂

Hi postpet, the registration date was 5 Jul 2011 for next year 2012 classes. Not sure if there are anymore vacancies available for N1 next year? Did you call them and check?

2 sets - children grow fast. bring child along, buy 2 sets that fit child nicely now.

for 3rd set, half a year later then buy. if you feel that your child eat a lot & tend to grow fast, half a year later, buy 1 size bigger.

                  :thankyou:
Ok, will take note. Didn't think about the growing part. Was think more about changing every day and washing in time.

                    buy 2 sets first.

Mon & Tues - wear 1st set. Wash on Tues, hang dry.
Wed & Thurs - wear 2nd set. Wash on Thurs, hang dry.

Fri - wear back the one that’s been washed on Tues.

also, label your child’s water bottle with child’s name and class name, school bag (if needed). If lost, people refer to the label easily & return to the owner.

Dear phtthp, thank you for your detailed information on what to expect for Orientation Day as well as enrichment options available. Sounds good! Sorry for this VERY late reply, have been caught up with getting new flat ready, packing, moving, older son’s P1 orientation etc.

                        Hi

                        IdoPilate

Can I check how did you manage to get the AM class? I thought they give priority for the existing N1s PM session kids who want to trsf to AM in N2. Cos I also enrolled for N2 for my DD on the enrolment day in July 2011 and only manage to get the PM class which is actually quite a problem for me , logistically as I do not wish to put her on the sch bus.

                        Thanks
                        Dear Breadandmuffins,
I queued up on 5th July and prayed very hard for an AM N2 slot and was told I had the last one...my arms and legs were shaking from the stress!! I was fortunate as two parents in front of me in the queue requested afternoon slots. I do hope you manage to find a solution to your logistics issue (I empathize, I seem to spend most of my time shuttling my kids to various activities weekly on public transport). I read on this forum that your DD can request an AM slot for K1 onwards, so hang in there!
