Yah will they have student care centre at the holding school and school bus back to Geylang area after student care?

And will the newly renovated school has a student care? What are they going to build in the new school? Thanks! :)
I don't think there's any student care in holding site. Also not sure where is the nearest student care there, may have to ask the St Hilda's Primary parents as they are using the holding site at Bedok now.

After the upgrading, our pupils will benefit from new facilities such as redesigned classrooms, an outdoor learning laboratory, an interactive Maths Room with a retail centre, a dance studio, a performing arts studio, an Indoor Sports Hall and a synthetic turf playing field. These new facilities will encourage greater interaction and self-discovery, and facilitate experiential and hands-on learning.

Thanks wiltanws! So there won't be an in-house student care centre after the upgrading? Will there be school bus to send the girls to the student care centre (near the school or geylang east area) after their CCAs then?

asking on behalf of my friend.

since haig girls school do no have student care, which nearby student care you all enroll your kids to? Does the student care normally only see that the student finish their homework only or if the kid not sure on how to do the teachers there can teach?
and is haig girls school only have one session or two

HGS will be shifting to temporary holding site at Bedok from 2015. So are you referring to student care at Bedok area?

      HGS is single session.

Yah will they have student care centre at the holding school and school bus back to Geylang area after student care?
Currently, I am doing PV in KH (<1km) but looking at current situation, it seems like even if P2B <1km also need to ballot.

This really make me thinking, should i also take up doing PV in Haig Girls (1-2km)?
Or just concentrate to clock more hours in KH?

Is it still in time to join pv in HGS? Btw when did u join pv for KH and how do u find the school so far?

I'm also staying 1-2 km from HGS and 1km from KH. Based on past history it's quite safe to say that all SCs within 2km can get into HGS in P2C. That's why I'm considering HGS for my girl. KH is quite tough, sure need to ballot even within 1km. Am also abit torn between these two, HGS being more holistic and more focus on character and leadership building in the girls. It might lack in terms of sports and academic, compared to KH. KH is more academic driven, with higher PSLE results compared to HGS. Anybody who can advise more on these two schools?

Btw how's the procedure like if we want to withdraw from a school we registered successfully under P2A2, so as to register in another school under P2C? Can it be done on the same day which is the last day of P2C? Appreciate the kind advice from the helpful parents here.

      :thankyou:

Most of the Pri sch which take in PVs have closed their applications early this year. So it is too late too PV now.

But still you can call up the school that interest you to enquire about PV matters.
Yeah, it's ok cos i'm not looking at PV route. I think for HGS no need to PV, quite safe for SC within 2km in P2C. As for KH definitely need to PV or join Hokkien association, and even face balloting at P2B. So that's why I'm nt looking at that route too, otherwise would hv planned for it earlier. So am just looking at the P2C for HGS and KH, which I think most probably going for HGS liao ha...

Hi postpet, the registration date was 5 Jul 2011 for next year 2012 classes. Not sure if there are anymore vacancies available for N1 next year? Did you call them and check?

Hi Chrisbear, yes we hv rec'd the letter last week. We can reach the school anytime from 9am-12noon this Sat. Basically it's a simple letter to inform us that we can purchase uniforms, and arrange with the bus operator on that day. We also get to meet their form teacher cos it stated the name of the class for our DD. We are also encouraged to bring the child along for this orientation.

Maybe you can call the school again to double check? šŸ™‚

Thanks for ur reply hquek! šŸ™‚

So doesn't matter whether he's alumni or not rite, cos will definitely still hv vacancy for 2A2 rite?

I'm also looking for a school with good moral and character building, but the academic part is also impt. So far how r the psle results and the passing rate?

HWS is not affiliated to any sec sch rite? Which sec schs do the students frm HWS normally go to? And they dun offer Tamil or Malay as 2nd language, meaning mostly are Chinese students?

Frm what i knw, although during my hubs time it is still not a SAP sch but i find that my hubs is quite strong in terms of some chinese values and culture which he strongly advocates even until now lol. Can even call him \"old school\" too lol... :rotflmao:

Hi all! My hubs is an old boy of Hong Wen, may i know if he still needs to join Alumni for Hong Wen or can just register under 2A2? I hv not heard much of Hong Wen before until lately when i start doing some research for our DD who was borned in 09. šŸ™‚

May i know what are the strengths of this school, other than it is a SAP school and rich in Chinese Culture? Appreciate your inputs, many thanks! Meanwhile congrats to all those who have gotten in, and best of luck to those who are balloting this Fri!! šŸ˜‰
