      hquek:
      hi empressplace,

Select pay via online means, then choose pay with overseas credit card. The system will lead you to an external webpage for you to key in details. I've been using Amex (DBS for that matter) without issue for the past couple of years. The system will later return ok, and then refresh to DD page that says there is an error.
and why is nobody talking about this problem?

i've been using dangdang alot longer than most of you here (2007)

you have no idea how bad they were back then, the CS were punks nothing but trouble, you have no idea how i ahd to deal with them back then all by myself

dangdang has screwed up their systems in 2009 after hundreds of upgrades and this problem of invoices stuck in [awaiting payment] and [error payment rejected] has been here for 2 years.
overseas credit-card users are left with an invoice forever stuck and mistakenly paying multiple times for an item that will never ever get shipped to them unless you kept hagging customer service which will outright cancel your orders or will only refund your paid duplicate invoices.

and admist all of this, with threads popping occasionally asking about the error with unhelpful ppl posting things like \"its your credit card blocking you from using it in a different country\"

      wow, just wow.

i wonder why credit cards are made, do you?

when are ppl going to start discussing about this issue?

i've had no problems before since i always go to the customer service and they would fix the issue for me in a jiffy.

however recently they're up to their old dirty tricks from 2007 again; cancelling your orders

after paying for invoice 201105 i went to CS as usual and told them to confirm my payment, they immediatly cancel my order which surprised me, they haven't done this since my first 2 orders from back in 2007 where afterwards they banned my previous account for \"inactivity\" which is just a clever way to wipe the evidence, i warned them that i'm a living in hong kong and will report them to the chinese authorities that they finally give in and in spite of the missing parcels here and now they mostly sent everything i ordered to where i want them to go.

i see that you folks are still very new to dandang but obviously some ppl aren't reporting back when they should, anyhow i feel slightly obliged to warn you that dangdang have scammed alot of ppl back in the day, and they're trending dangerously to that level again; just so you know.

don't complain too much about parcels.

did you know that the courier they used back then steal almost everything they ship?

did you know how international orders gets stolen before they even get to the post office?

did you know that they used to fail miserabley at even shipping to macau and hong kong? (parcel loss rate 90 %)

did you know that back then they don't give refunds? and would actually edit your invoice's shipping costs to match the monkey they owe you so that it looked like YOU didn't pay them enough before banning you for inactivity?

      eg: invoice jun12th 30RMB shipping ---> 600RMB

i can go on and on.

now, i've long suspected that this problem has something to do with the browser one uses to make the payment.

for those of you who rememebr, in 2008 dangdang made an anouncement warning us that we should use IE instead of firefox after another series of upgrades, though the announcment disappeared, i want to tell you that i have used IE to try and make a payment but its no different than firefox, and now i want everyone who has succeeded in paying with credit cards in recent months to tell me when said payment was made, and the browser they're using.

you don't have to do it, but i've told you some very useful info and i think you owe it to me, to yourself to atleast share this info so we can work together for our mutual benefit.

least don't forget that i can read manderin, even though i'm canadian.
so for your sake, i hope ppl will start talking about this issue, because an old-timer like me is not planning on staying here for long.

      just so you know.

How to order from dangdang using peeka? It seems to offer taobao only?

Just paste the dangdang link. The auto fetch only works for taobao but you can enter the other fields manually.

Sorry, don't understand. Paste the link on which part of the peeka website?

          Hi charliewindson,

Actually I have ordered from dangdang since 2009 for about 10 to 20 times using credit card, each time they delivered my books as promised. I used to encounter a lot of problems using Citibank visa, but that was a problem with the Citibank server, nothing to do with dangdang. Ever since I changed to Amex, I have ordered many times without any problems. I have never been charged extra and I have never lost any parcels.

You email shows 文轩网, are you sure you are using dangdang ? Did you confuse dangdang with other booksellers ?

I got fed up with dangdang only because their parcels now take forever to arrive, and there is no reliable way to track their parcels.

When I worked and traveled in China, I have also ordered from dangdang about 5 - 6 times using cash on delivery, and each time they delivered without problems. While I was working in a university in China, I noticed many staff and students collecting their books from the dangdang courier. While my hubby was working in a university in another city in China, he had to queue up for about 1 hour to collect his books from the dangdang courier. dangdang is one of the biggest booksellers in China.

I believe that dangdang is a reliable bookseller, though their courier service to overseas is really messed up which caused some people to lose their parcels. They cannot be listed in NASDAQ if they are scammers.

hmm you’re right i must have gotten the wrong emails.

i’ll take screens of my account in a sec.

they’re not scammers, but they do scam, that was something i’m uncomfortable with.

now that i’ve looked into my account from an earlier transaction, it looks like they did scam me this year after all. hold on.

interesting, because i thought they fully refunded me

            looks like they didn’t

the 34 dollar invoices are all the same, i made duplicate payments due to the invoices stuck in [awaiting payment] issue though it happens all the time for me and i thought they refunded me fully like the last time i did that

Note that I have only ordered from peeka twice and I will continue to use them. I am not sure whether they will always be reliable. Use them at your own risk.

Thank you, tamarind. The other details to be keyed in manually, are you referring to the other boxes that say Product name, colour, etc? Are they compulsory fields that we need to key in?

I have requested for refund from dangdang before due to the fact that I accidentally paid twice. They refunded me but it took about 1 month to show up on my transaction details.

Did you email them at [email protected] and chase them for a refund ? If we don't request for the refund, they will not do it.

Anyway I do believe that you encountered problems with dangdang and thanks for sharing. As I wrote earlier, I am not going to use my credit card to order from dangdang any more. I am going to use peeka to help me to order instead. Peeka has offices in China receiving the orders. If I find another cheap and reliable source in taobao, I will order from taobao instead of dangdang.

Yes Product name and other fields marked \"*\" are compulsory.

Note that there is a $5 delivery charge per order, and remember to choose economy delivery.

Ok, thanks for highlighting that. So should better consolidate a few purchases. The delivery charges is in S$, right?

And product name means the title of the book, right?
