Come back after Teacher-Parent meeting this morning. The form teacher informed us that the supplementary class for MT and EMS will kick off after CNY which will be 3 times a week. In addition, some enrichment workshop for a short period of time will be conducted either on Monday or Friday. P6 students be prepared to come back on 1st two week of June as well as September Holiday.

During the meeting, the form teacher requests us to monitor our children emotion during this period as the most stressful period will properly from June up to PSLE. As such is not advisable to over burn from now till May. She also requests the parent to pay extra focus on MT as this could be the critical factor affecting the T-score. Last but not least those who scored below 85 during the Maths pre-test have to buck-up.

      ๐Ÿ˜“ ๐Ÿ˜“

Thanks for sharing. Looks so hectic, especially the sup classes. This will leave very lil time for self study/revision.

Ours is in feb. Will share after the meeting.

Agree that MT will be very critical as it affects t-score. It's good to hold it earlier as communication between parents and teachers can develop earlier so that parents can also help on weak subjects.....ours only take place after after CA1 results are out ..

Wow, all your schools briefing so early! DS' school will only hold briefing and parent teacher meeting in Apr timeframe. So far, his homework load quite light and no major increase in load. In addition, supp class only once a week. Now, should I be worried? :?

DH said I'm a typical KS mum....too much homework :!: ๐Ÿ˜ข Too little  :scared: How not to???

          Hi Brenda,
Your DD's schedule sounds like my DD's schedule. DD started her 3x a week supplementary lessons first week of sch and yesterday, she came back and told me the teachers want them to attend extra enrichment lessons conducted by external vendors 2x a week from Feb to May. That means, she she has to stay back after sch everyday!!! ๐Ÿ˜ Dunno how she's going to cope with it? Hope that she has the stamina to keep up with the marathon.

Thanks for sharing about the importance of monitoring our kid's emotions during this stressful year. Will be attending the Parents' Briefing by the P and FT this Friday. Hopefully, will find out more info from the sch.

            Hi pen88n,

:rotflmao: :rotflmao: Know what you mean. Guess your DS's sch is taking it easy for now. Most likely, after CNY, the workload will build up. Enjoy it while it lasts. ๐Ÿ˜‰

So far the CL teacher has given worksheet focus on specific area like ็†่งฃ้—ฎ็ญ”๏ผŒ็Ÿญๆ–‡ๅกซ็ฉบ๏ผŒๅฎŒๆˆๅฏน่ฏ etc to complete in daily basis. I hope later on school will put in more emphasis on CL Oral and CL compo. too.

Same here. DD homework load still very light since the 1st day of school till now. As such we just make use of this period to clear some work and once the school work increase then we can cut down all these extra work.

For dd school, I do not see a lot work coming in.Generally its still pieces here and there.

Probably they are trying to pace the child up.

                    Hi Thinkerbelle,

I think for dd's school the most they will go up to 4X a week inclusive of enrichment class. I also hope dd can cope as she has been quite relaxed since last year.

                      Hi Lynn

I also think the work load is very light. However can not raise too much questions during the parent-teacher meeting otherwise may be black listed by the teacher.
