Can someone show me how to solve the following question using the model.

Mrs Lee bought 35 blue and red hair clips. She then packed them equally into 5 packets. If there are 3 more pink clips than blue clips in each packet, how many blue clips are there in each packet?

        Thanks

          Thanks

First, each packet will have 35/5 = 7 clips.

Now draw model, draw 1 unit block to represent blue clips, and then the same unit block with another block of 3 clips to represent pink clips.

As total is 7 clips, so the 2 unit block will be 7 - 3 = 4 clips.

          Finally, 1 unit block = 4/2 = 2 clips.

Ans: 2 blue clips in each packet.

              Hi,

              F+E=156
              E+G=204
              G+F=248

              2(E+F+G)=608
              E+F+G= 304

              Regards

                  Difference between Fiona and Gregory =204 - 156 = 48
                  248 - 48= 200
                  200/2 = 100 (Fiona)
                  156 - 100 = 56 (Elaine)
                  204 - 56 = 148 (Gregory)
                  Total = 100 + 56 + 148 = 304

How to solve this problem? Would appreciate detailed explanation too.

Gopal wants to buy 8 bars of chocolate but he is short of $3. If he buys 7 bars of chocolate, he will have $1 left. How much money does he have?
