      HI

Can anyone help in solving this qn ?

28 chess mathces were played at a chess tournament. If each player was allowed to play only once with each other player, how many players were there altogether ?

      Tks
      2 player = 1 match
      3 player = 3 match (2+1)
      4 player = 6 match (3+2+1)
      5 player = 10 match (4+3+2+1)
      6 player = 15 match (5+4+3+2+1)
      7 player = 21 match (6+5+4+3+2+1)
      8 player = 28 match (7+6+5+4+3+2+1)

          B-72+94=250

          B=250+72-94=228

          [Betty baked some cookies]..................at first
          [Betty give 72][seventy.two]..................give 72
          [Betty give 72][seventy.two][22]............bake 72+22 (bake 94)
          <---------250---------->............left 252
          [---156----][seventy.two]..................250-22-72=156
          [Betty baked some cookies]..................at first there are 156 + 72 = 228
          Thank you very much.

            Appreciate for the help šŸ™‚

Mr. Thomas placed a row of flowerpots alont the path from the gate to the door of his bungalow. There were 18 flowerpots alont the path. A flowerpot was placed at every 5 m. How long was the path from the gate to the door?

            Thank you in advance

              Hihi,

Can anyone help to solve this question?

The cost of a pen and a pencil is $2.50. The cost of 2 such pens is the same as the cost of 3 such pencils. What is the cost of 5 such pencils?

Cost of 2 pens = cost of 3 pencils
Cost of 1 pen = cost of 3/2 pencils

                Hence with 2.50 you can buy 5/2 pencils. ( 1 + 3/2 = 5/2)

                2.50/5 x 2 = 1 = cost of pencil
                1 x 5 = 5

                  Hi,

I assume that the first pot start from the gate and the last pot end exactly at the door or vice versa.

                  Then the path is 17 x 5 = 85m.

This can be illustrated with a ruler to your kid.
e.g. Starting from 0 to 10cm, if the point is 1cm apart then there are a total of 11 points.

                  Regards

                    Hi,

                    Alternatively,

                    One set of (1 pen + 1 pencil) = $2.5

If I buy one more set of (1 pen + 1 pencil), it will be

                    (1 pen + 1 pencil) + (1 pen + 1 pencil) = $5

                    2 pens + 2 pencils = $5

Since 2 pens have the same cost as 3 pencils, then

                    3 pencils + 2 pencils = $5, or

                    5 pencils = $5

                    Regards
