Did anyone try for DSA via asthetics this year??? Pls share your experience.
My dd1 is P5 this year so I started looking through the selected school websites on their requirements.
How many schools should we try for???? Was thinking of 2-3 is that too much?
In one of them, saw that they asked for grade 5 practical and theory in western instruments. I felt :nailbite: . Called the school and acknowledge that I am kiasu so asking ahead. They asked about her background and then told me that the grade 5 thingy is a nice to have. But what is going to make/ break is the actual audition..... she is definitely eligible to apply. But I thought good to do homework earlier so that we can prepare. Also, I am going to show her those requirement eg. overall average cannot be lower than 70%, etc... so she has to work hard.
Asking her piano teacher if can position her for grade 5 theory.... practical is definitely a stretch. But good to learn that it's not MUST have but nice to have. -
As MGS & SCGS is going IP, is it true that even entry via DSA also need to score at least 250?

When you apply, do you have to specify if the DSA meant for IP or Non-IP ? Think if it is for IP there is GAT right? Whether need 250 or not think need to ask the school.
How does ACS (I) do it? Seems like only those 252 and above go IP even if they got DSA offered. Can someone who know clarify? -

In case you miss their T-score cut-off and you can still go to that school lah. But whether for sure IP or not, good question .i3mum:

In ACSI's case, so long as you meet their GAT requirement during DSA, you'll do IP. Friend's son who entered via DSA Sports and scored 240+ is in IP in ACSI.i3mum:

Isn't this the case?verykiasu2010:

It depends whether DSA is for IP or not. For ACS(I), they have IP and Sports. If you indicated DSA for only one of the two areas, then you will be considered for ONLY that one. -
Details of ACSI's DSA here: http://www.acs.sch.edu.sg/acs_indep/news.php?id=241
Main points - you can indicate if you want to DSA for IP or non-IP. You can DSA via academic, sports and other special talents. IP intake is dependent on HAST test.
So even if you DSA via Sports and get CO and you opted for IP, you will still be in IP even though you score <250. -
