I would like to ask about the Year 3 DSA to RI for local students. May i know what topics they might possibly test for the entrance examinations for Science? What is tested for english? Also how many places are usually given to local students as i am aware RI takes in a bulk of foreign scholars in year 3. How many students apply and what are the chances of getting in.

I am currently in an IP school and i am have been placed in the SBGE programme. I am also in a sport and i play for the school.Does anyone have experience on the Year 3 DSA? Hope you guys would help me out. Any info would help!

For the interview, does the kid need to prepare any portfolio?

The e-mail said there is no need for a prepared speech and advised to respond sincerely and spontaneously during the interview. No mention of original certificates or portfolio.

I have been wondering about the portfolio. DD has not been called in for interview, and we do not know if we should go ahead and get a portfolio ready, just in case.

When I called NYGH previously about the result slips, the lady who answered the call did mention that we would only need to bring in the original result slips etc during interview (since no copies were submitted during application). In this case, do we just bring along the original docs for verification or still do up a portfolio? Really appreciate it if last year's DSA parents can advise. Many TIA.

For HCI DSA test and interview this coming Saturday, will HCI release all the students at the same time? For example, for those reporting at 10 am, will all the students be released at the same time at 1:30 pm or will the students be allowed to leave as soon as their test and interview are over?

1. what is the pass mark for each ofthe subject (Maths,English, MT,HMT,Science), means if you dont get that then it is fail.
2. what is the Score needed to Express,Normal,etc.
3. what if we get fail mark in one subject but other subjects pass and even score is above 200. is it mean they will be offered express or asked to redo the PSLE or asked to do what.

I dont see any thing from MOE website and teachers also didnt share this

It's the overall score that matters. No child needs to redo PSLE bc there are different streams available for Sec 1 - Express, Normal(academic), Normal (Technical). That is, UNLESS the child wants to re-do PSLE himself/herself.

Only homeschoolers who don't hit benchmark have to redo PSLE, unless the rest of the population that just simply goes to Normal stream in secondary school.

To get into Express, it's usually 200, but some schools accept 188. You can check the MOE website for the list of schools and their COPs for Express stream.
