My dd will be gg to rgs for interview next week.

That is why I said some ( races) very talkative and do not give any chance to others. I think it is not the girls problem. Interview is suppose to be one to one not twenty in a group.
The facilitator plays an important part in delegating the talk. If meeting a very bias facilitator, really have to teach our kids to survive in such situation. -

My girl math domian is in the morning 8.15am at RI on 21 Jul. I called RGS to change the timing to afternoon but they said the timing is fixed and do not allow any changes.
Same here!!
Your daughter's test dates clashed with NUSHS is it? Is there anything else we can do? Will have to give up one?
Can u share how u make the decision? -

I think it’s rude to teach your child to say " shut up" to fellow students. Teach them some polite words by which they can take control of the situation and excel in the process. Keeping quite might give the child a better chance than being rude and arrogant in front of the examiner. Also today, they will say-shut up -to fellow students, tomorrow it will be the parents turn…anyways hope everyone gets an equal chance.

DD just finished her nygh interview. She said it's a really big group of about 20 girls, and she didn't have much to say. She felt that her chances with nygh has just gone down the drain...:(
DD had her interview at NYGH yesterday. It's only a group of 6 gals to 2 interviewers (the principal and the vp) and they have to do group discussion while the interviewers observed. Only 2 questions were asked (1 in English and 1 in Chinese). They only took about 20 minutes in total.
Basically, there are 2 groups of interviewers yesterday and the gals are group into 6s.
May I know is your dd in the gep or mainstream? thx.
Did your dd enjoy the interview? -

Yes, interestingly the GEP boys said it wasn't that easy. My DS (not GEP) said that English was the defining paper, he took a while to decide on the best options, while Math and Abstract Reasoning were relatively manageable, especially Math. His friend who also did the HAST at NJC said it was much easier than ACSI's.
What's the difficulty of the HAST paper? some of the boys from DS's GEP class commented that it wasn't so easy.Oodles Mummy:
Hi PSLE Mums and Dads!
I'm a newbie, just hopped over from registration site : )
Looks like excitement is brewing with so many children being called up for interviews at RI, RGS etc. I feel excited for you just by reading your posts.
For my DS, still pending..He applied only to ACSI and it's a relatively easier process. Just do HAST, submit portfolio and personal statement and WAIT for result.
We signed up for the test on 22 June, there were 480 boys who did the test in the hall. Not sure what was the attendance for the other two test dates.
