Hi, anyone knows how many DSA vacancies left for RI for non-GEP? Thanks!
the answer can be found about a year back on this thread.
approx 40 including sports DSA -
As far as I know, there were around 480 boys on the 1st HAST test and another 340 boys on the 2nd and 3rd HAST tests. :yikes: Yes, the competition is really stiff here. :xedfingers:[/quote]
Thanks 3G for the info
Was wondering what was the turnout for the 2nd and 3rd HAST dates. -

Anyone received shortlisted notification from RI for English domain?
My DS received his e-mail notification from RI on 17 Jul for English domain. His test will be 21 Jul at 3 pm.
We are in a dilemma now. He is also shortlisted to attend a half day selection test at HCI on 21 Jul. The HCI email wrote that the session should end by 1500 h. If my son attends HCI selection test, he may probably not be able to make it to RI on time by 3pm. I actually called up both schools. However RI told me that they do not have any alternative time slot as Eng n Math domains start at 3pm promptly. HCI told me that their session should end by 3pm depending on how fast the interview takes. They advise that my DS can actually ask for permission to leave the school earlier if he is done with the interview. My question now is what if he hasn't finished by
2.15pm as we need time to travel to RI. I have emailed to HCI yesterday to request in writing the teachers in charge can make concessions to allow my son to get through the interview first and finish early......but up to now no reply from them. Looks like my DS has to forgo one of the DSA selection tests. He is still deciding which one to attend.
Or should he just go ahead and participate in HCI and hope he can end early there and then make it RI by 3pm? If HCI ends late, he may just have to quit halfway and leave for RI at 2pm or so.
Anyone can advise on what we should do? -
though the competition sounds stiff for the DSA at the top 4 each with more than a thousand applicants, but it actually is not too bad, considering the fact that many are just trying with a hope
the top 4 each takes in 450 per cohort, 4 x 450 = 1800, and 50% being set aside for DSA = 900, roughly 225 each for this DSA
so if your are clearly at the top, no fear; if not, no fret β do well at PSLE is another chance -

You're welcome. This is what the forum is for. Cheering & supporting each other. :grphug:Thanks Yukilei for your kind words, the parents here are so encouraging, spurring us on.
When we attended the open house talk, they mentioned 50 vacancies for non- feeder, so looking at the 90 allotted for DSA, I thought the other 40 should be for their own feeder boys.
Oh, I didn't know that only 50 seats are for non-feeder school. But it doesn't matter. If can make it, GREAT!! But if can't, like what verykiasu2010 had said, work hard for PSLE & there'll be another chance. -
Congratulations to you superksmum! Looks like 2nd round for my DD at RGS has no hope. Will strive for PSLE then. Good luck to all PSLEs kids!! Cheers:-)

Hi tinkfirst, maybe you can call up RGS and check with them if your dd has been shortlisted for an interview.
I, too, was worried sick when almost all my dd's classmates have received an interview date but dd has not heard frm RGS at all. I called up RGS to check on her status. The lady at admissions helped me look up their system and advised me to wait for the notice. I received the email notice on 18 Jul
to attend interview next week.
