Besides, piano, it’s actually possible for one to get grading in their band instrument. But that means private tuition. Issue is this is a niche market and tutor fees can be expensive. Fortunately my kids are attending this MOE music talent thingy so they get their own instrument tutor.
      …

LOL - Of course I know that other instruments have grading - besides Piano. My boys all don’t take piano but have advanced grading in their individual instruments.

My DS applied DSA via Chinese Orchestra. Managed to get his Piano Grade 5 (Merit) this Feb. Knew too late about CO instrument grading exam. But seriously don’t see how he can squeeze in any more time for individual lessons. Hope his piano Grade5 can count favorably.
Hope kids at NUSH selection camp are having fun.

Saw 399 names vying for 153 vacancies. Each group ~5-6 students ie. about 70+ groups. Meaning average only 2 will be selected from each group. But whatever the outcome, an interesting experience. 😄

My DS said one boy didnt turn up for camp. He saw is name in the list though( but again the KR boy is NMOS top 6 but didnt get to IMO as they were in Emppass so any special consideration gvn :?) Not sure if there are any more cause yesterday it was RI/RGS/Hwa C ? selection test too.KPs who went can share. So is it still 399 ???

The actual no. should be less as the selection date clashed with RI/RGS/HCI. My friend's DD went to RGS instead of NUSH, she was shortlisted by both.

To share, my DS's friend, one of the top 3 badminton player in SG, has been verbally offered/confirmed a seat in RI after the CCA test.
Yap I heard this too. so does that mean he never attended the camp . I am sooo kaisu then :scratchhead:  total count less more chance to those participated in camp. 😂 . :imsorry: if I amm so so kiasu.

Also I found that some DC had RI/RGS selection test in the afternoon and they came to fetch their children earlier & 2 Indian children had RI then Prelim . Heard that they had earlier did test drive to calculate the time taken to multiple venues . Poor Parents 😓 but NUSH was very accomdative.

ruohoo 97.... I dont know whether its selection or interview but its the stage after taking GAT test. I know another applicant that received the \"I regret\" a few days back and shes frm another school.

I guess the schools dont base their decision solely on the GAT, different schools have different ways of selecting.
thanks for clarification. based on the past years experience, the rejection letters usually are sent after co and wl. best wishes to you and all other dsa applicants.
