DSA 2012

Phew! just feel off loaded from DSA thingy, but only got to recall there is still a SS test soon and school prelim. DS is feeling impatient that why he needs to be drilled again and again on those practice papers. Asked why can't they allow GEPpers tobe exempted from PSLE if they have achieved above 80% in the GE exam? Got to be tied down for two more over months before he can really move on.
And two more months to hang around after PSLE. Heard in the past those who got CO from NUSH already report to NUSH to kick-off enrichment program. Feel RI/RGS/NY/HCI who has the most DSA CO offers perhaps could do the same to engage the kids with CO first, perhaps do projects or something like that.

But I also read last year thread and remember they said does not mean anything leh.
Yes, at first I also concole myself that it does not mean anything, However, when the result were out and I cross checked. It has some meaning in the remark.
May I asked anyone who went for the RI interview, did the inteviewer ask you to study hard for PSLE at the end of the interview?GoodDad:

when was your DS. thats great to hear no tough questions . some questions was really like what is the capital of Africa. :siao:
Understand this is a hint from my last year RI DSA experience. Quite a number of my DS classmates and friends got this remark and get rejected.
I remember one of my DS classmate, the interviewer directly told him, \"please work hard for your PSLE, you still have a chance to come into RI\" -
This has already happen in Sport DSA. The sportman started to train with the sec school team when they are in P6.
As for DSA to RI/HCI/NUSH/RGS/NYGH, some might not decided which school to choose, how to start project? Some GEP students might have COs from more then 3 schools. -
anyone had idea what will RGS visual art domain test will be like?
-
Think in 2011, a lot of GEP girls chose RGS. 5 claases of GEP and high performers
The interview is just a \"procedure\". Just to make sure the GEP boys are not dump or something like that. 90% of the applicant already decided before the interview.
I have monitored the DSA ehxercise since 2009, non of GEP boys below 75% awarded CO from RI regardless how well they perform in the interview but I knew many GEP boys with good results, during interview only answer 2 or 3 simple questions and awarded a CO. In the end of the interview, the interviewer still shake hand with the boys.
In HCI interview, even better, during interview for those GEP boys with good result. Instead of asking questions, they were trying to \"sell\" the school to those boys.
The cut off point has move up every year. In year 2009 DSA, my DS school mate, scored 78.8% for his SA1 and awarded CO. I think for this year, with this result no chance manz!!! -

Just feel the 2 months after PSLE is going to be wasted ! Already the period drilling for PSLE is wasting time for those GE kids who have proven been doing well. Perhaps the GE branch can study letting them join their CO high school earlier. -

If you think not to waste the 2 months after the PSLE, why not do some CIP work not to increase the CIP hours but turely serve the community

I have seen too many students with super good result but still lack of the \"heart\". They are our future leaders. Hope to see some changes in the future. -
