DSA 2012

It wasn't easy at first for me to accept the unsuccessful email at the start of the day.
Fortunately dd was ok and took it quite well.
After all this is not the end of the world, right?
Thanks folks for your outpouring kind and comforting words especially to you who had shared your past experience on overcoming the disappointment.
GLORYmum, a big hug from me....
I understand the disappointment, my DS got an NO from NUSH 2 weeks ago, I cried myself a river... I have so much regret :stupid: ....regretted that I did not sign him for MO courses thou he begged for it since since P4; regretted that I restrict his excessiveness of spending hours daily on Maths and Science and neglect his other language subjects, the list goes on....
It's my DS that had to console me, :snuggles: DS and me had learned a great deal in this DSA episode, and we are just glad that we had the opportunity to gain the exposure....
Now I am glad and proud to say this, though he failed his NUSH DSA, but DS fought a good fight (NUSH); with his non-exposure to Maths Olympiad and Science Olympiad, he managed to clear the first round and entered the Selection Camp. We will see how he fair in his PSLE, or Sec 2; we may still have a chance. :xedfingers:
Wish your DD ALL THE BEST!
Way to go Mamago! Hugs :grphug: As you said there is still PSLE to hope for. There are just too many dragons and competition is keen this year. Every parent will do their best for their DC. You and DS have done your best. :hugs:
Hugs too :grphug: Lilo
It was a good experience for dd at such young age.

GLORYmum:
RGS email is out.
A consoling one.
:gloomy:
Keep up the faith and don't lose hope. I believe your DD can go in via PSLE result.

This could be the great motivational factor to her glory success in PSLE.
Cheers! :grphug: -

Stay positive. Think of the better side.
My DS was a GEPper. Did not get any CO from his DSA excerise. Pri 6 SA1 mid year exam result missed by 4 marks and PSLE T-score missed by 2 points to get into his dream school - RI. It might be a blessing for him that he did not get into RI (sour grape). This prove that he was not good enough. As mentioned by one of the fourmer in other thread, \"if you are not selected, or did not past the test. This means that something are missing or not ready for it\" No point \"force\" into it. They might not be happy. I can imagine that if my DS is in RI, we might have priority booking for PTM and DS will be busy with remedial class. -

Definitely. Thanks, the ultimate tests are yet to come.
Take heart, glorymum. Happened to my dd as well last year. Got into NUSH but DSA rejected from RGS. She got into RGS by PSLE. Keep your hopes high. Time for positive thinking. -

Not sure if there's any SAHM in this forum. If there is & since it's already 4.07pm now, & there's no post on RI, looks like, it won't be today.
