MotherHen:
:congrats: Your dd and friends are from GEP? I can imagine the screams across several households this evening.jtoh:
:thankyou: superksmum and Flowermonaster
DD's best frens have also received their COs frm RGS, so DD is now screaming in joy in the living room.
DD and friends applied under ge. Yes, and I think all the mommies are screaming along with their DDs. No more decorum....
We found out later last night that another of DD's friends have yet to to receive the email frm RGS. So we've been praying really really hard. Hopefully, the email offering admission will reach her today
Yes hopefully. Most of the GE girls have received emails from RGS or half of them only? If half then maybe the second lot will receive it today.

Congratulations to all parents and children that receive CO from RGS!
Just curious, any mainstreamers receive CO from RGS under academic? If you receive, may I ask under which domain? Thanks very much! -

:congrats: to bengbeng, Motherhen & DC!!!!! :rahrah: :rahrah: -
julialai:
Thanks, Julialai.
:congrats: Yarna!!!
If you don't mind sharing, in comparing between SJI and ACSI, what would be your key considerations? Why do you personally prefer SJI? Is your DS from feeder school? My nephew also received from both schools and my sis-in-law can't decide between the two :?
Both schools are similar and it is hard to decide. DS is not from a feeder school to both ACSI and SJI.
DS' take on ACSI:
DS likes the environment in ACSI and felt a sense of belonging when we visited during open house. I think the principal plays a big part too - Mr.Hodges sounded warm and sincere in his presentation during open house and DS says that he reminds DS of dad (DS' dad aka my dear hubby).
DH and my thoughts on SJI:
DS is not exactly the most hardworking kid. It is coming to a month to PSLE and he is still kidding around. He takes things easy and to him, PSLE is just another exam which he likens to a SA2. He did nothing to prepare for oral and when I asked him to revise, he will tell me, dont worry mum, I have it covered. :frustrated: erm... ok.. we could only pray and take his word for it and hope for the best.
Somehow (and I might be wrong at this) I felt that ACSI will be more stressful as it would have a more competitive culture. For DH and I, it is looking at his personality and we feel that SJI would be a better fit for him.
Ultimately we know that the decision should reside with DS as he is the one that is going to school and not us. We will respect his decision whatever it may be. But we would like him to hear us out too. -

yarna:
yarna, my DS said the same thing to me on PSLE as just another SA2. It actually enlightened me. Maybe it's good not to stress too much to the kids on the word \"PSLE\". Trust your boy. If he has been consistent in his work, he can make it.

emoh:
Thanks, emoh for the info. I did not know that. May I ask if your DS is in SJI? If so, how do you find the school?
For your info, both Principals are former Directors in MOE and also old boys of SJI.julialai:

Thanks, Yukilei. I agree with you that we should not stress our kids too much. As parents, we always worry .. perhaps this is the additional stress that is unwarranted.
