My son is on the WL of VS. They said will inform us if there is a place for my son on 28/08, and did not invite us to the following briefing. If my son wonโt get the CO on 28/8, he will be taken away from the WL or not?
I want to know the WL is a kind of offer or not? Those pupils on the WL should be invited to the school briefing as same as CO? Those pupils on the WL should received a hard copy of offer or not?
If we put the WL of VS as our first choice and is converted to CO on the PSLE result day. Assuming my sonโs result is below their COP, then my son will be put into O level or IP program?

That was when I was working many years ago. Now, after years of happy unemployment, will be lucky to have job offer, lah! If lucky to have job offer, 100% suffer pay cut and \"demotion\". Agree๏ผPersonally, I find it rather strange to leave the decision of accepting a CO after the PSLE. It seems unfair for those who have more than 1CO to hold up the rest waiting in line. Also, if a child finds the PSLE tough, he or she simply falls back on the CO while the rest who do not have any CO will have to sweat it out and hope for the best.
Moreover, those who have CO may have less incentive to do their utmost best for the PSLE but will still have the CO to fall back on even if their PSLE results turn out not that good.
If a CO has to be confirmed before PSLE, the child has to decide whether to accept his or her 'dream' school. If the CO is not for the dream school, then it should be given up to those who consider it their 'dream' school. Then this child who gives up the CO will have to work hard to get into his or her dream school.
This will level the playing field, but just my humble opinion.
As I know, SST has to have confirmation of whether to accept the CO before PSLE. I think they recognise all the problems for holding back the COs. -

Wow, it looks like RGS is not to strive for \"Excellent at ALL cost.\" I suppose your DD is one of best in her sports. Typically, at this level of sports, she has to train at least four times a week, letting her already less time comparing to other students.
My daughter also got provisional offer from RGS. It is neither in email or letter. Received phone call from RGS explaining this offer. It is not even considered a WL. RGS explained that we have to think very carefully as to accept this offer means that we have to give up all our other DSA offers and take part in the Sec 1 posting after the PSLE results are released. If you take part in the DSA option form at the end of October, then this offer is withdrawn.
It is a tough decision especially when you receive COs from other schools, if it is WL, still not so bad as there's still chance you may not get a CO. So please think very carefully. Not many will throw away a CO and hope to score 235 to get into RGS.
As for my DD, we are still awaiting the results of our other DSAs before we consider further.
Depends on individuals, I do have friend' DD who excels both in academic and sports. If she is not so academic inclined, she will surely be very stressful in RGS. Pray for wisdom to decide !
