For those who has gone through the process last year, can you please share your experience?

My boy didn't do much preparation for his audition last year. Just performed one of the pieces that he had been practising. There was a sight-reading piece. And then interview.

Mine, they gave only 1 day's notice for the audition. So must be prepared.

Hi! Does anyone know the format of the interview conducted by Hwa Chong for DSA? What are the topics they ask generally? Is it conducted in English or Chinese?

1 day notice? Oh no… that’s my concern when I checked the dates. For NYGH, the DSA application is from 7May-2July and their audition dates are from 21May-13July. Which means they will start audition once the application comes in? OMG!

Dunno. I think I heard from parents in the DSA thread that NYGH & SCGS gave a few days' notice. Maybe 3 days or so.

Best to have a piece prepared lah.

Last year they asked the general questions about why HC, what subjects you want to specialise in, etc. It was in English. It may vary among interviewers and cohort.

Generally in English. However, some parents mentioned that some interviewers do ask 1 to 2 question in Chinese.
