Hi Yum Yum, mind to share about the transport enquiry? Though DS has not make up his mind, I'm interested to know abt the transport arrangement should he decide to go HCI. Thks

Hi Yukilei,

I was referred to the the Singapore School Transport Association (SSTA). Contact: 6747 7246 / 6748 5501.

However, when I called, I was told that they dont cater for Secondary students. Thus, I will need to make arrangement for DS. :scratchhead: If it's via ublic transport, pending Tan Kah Kee MRT, the nearest will be Botanic Gardens and then take a direct bus if DH cannot drop him on all days.

Thank you Yum Yum. If DS were to go HCI, he'll be taking public bus, alighting opp HCI. But thought if there's school bus, maybe I would like to considered. I understand RI does have school bus & it cost around $110 for one trip from my place.

I think it's depend on the school & teacher. The general selection criteria for my DS's school is for those kids interested to go HCI then from there the teacher will select(don't know wat criteria) as limited vacancies.

For those who received only WL, assuming your choice school still has no place for you after posting result is out (the worst case eventuality), how are you going to strategize and fill in the option form on 22 Oct? E.g. How would you indicate your 6 choices in the option form? Do you have to place as No.1 the school that has granted you a WL? Welcome your advice. Thanks!

22Oct week is for those DC who hv received at least 1 CO or WL to make their selection. Unless there is a situation where a DC received 6 CO and/or WL, one won't be using 6 choices. In 1st choice put the school which yr DC absolutely one to go, even if it's WL. Tricky bit will be if yr DC received a WL for 1st choice and a CO for a school which the DC has second thoughts abt going. The dilemma will be to just put 1st choice WL and the rest blanks.

My DS only has 1 WL, so pretty straight forward choice then. But what if we still want to try for his affiliated SAP secondary school based on his PSLE results ( because eligible for some discounts), would choosing the DSA WL school as 1st choice deprive him of consideration for his affiliated school during S1 posting? Or are we not eligible for S1 posting at all?

Uke, if your DS WL has been converted to CO then he is not eligible for S1 posting. He will know this when he receive his PSLE result.
