DSA 2012

mamona:
My boy received his form from the school via his form teacher, after which we made our confirmation online yesterday. I thought this is the only way the form is given to pupils with COs and/or WLs?MotherHen:
DD brought back the DSA School Preference Form today. We just logged in and made our selection final. Now I feel like the whole process is finally complete

So if dd got CO from one school only so this Preference Form is not required right? Because my dd didn't receive any.
It may be best to check with school first before checking with MOE. -

This is a short week and deadline is this Saturday 12 noon. I do think your DD should still receive the Preference Form despite having only one CO. Don't make any assumption that it will be auto allocated to you. By the way, I've confirmed that a boy in DS's class who has one CO also received his Form yesterday. -
Kiasucy:
You mean even if you have made your option in the system today, you can still change your mind and amend it before 27 Oct?MotherHen:

Hi parents,
I'm Matt, an education reporter with The Straits Times. I'm doing a piece on DSA and I haven't been able to get official figures for the proportion of academic vs non-academic entrants via DSA to integrated programme schools.
I was wondering if anyone here might be familiar with unofficial figures or estimates. Please PM me or email me at [email protected] - anonymity assured. -

DD received 2 CO... RGS first choice and MGS second. However I think the second choice is moot unless RGS becomes defunct? Between now and Jan?

I believe it's different for different schools. DD attended the MGS dsa welcome day... They mentioned that they have 60 slots for their IB/IP classes. 50% of the places were given out at DSA. For RGS, approx 220 IP places of which 50% is reserved for DSA. Of the 50% reserved for DSA, approx 40 to 50 places were for non academic.Hi parents,

All unofficial of course... -
Worriedpapa:
The info you have on RGS is incorrect. The entire RGS cohort is IP. There are about 400+ students per year.
