@ jtoh
Finally she decided to do the IB in SOTA .
Even though I felt abit disappointed cos I thought SCGS will be the best .
BUT I will give her my Full support towards her decision .
She is the one gonna be studying n be happy n SHINE.
You are one of the great mother who give support towards her choice. SOTA is not a bad choice too. I know one this year who chose DHS over RI and HCI for the same reason- in a happier environment. Sincere friends with no competition. Lots of support from teachers and peers and traditional chinese moral that I see slowly faded in modern generation.
Last day for those students who could not decide on choices yet. Ask yourself what matters more? Prestigious school does not necessary be a happy 4-6 years ahead. -
Hi Soka, Good Post!
-
A non prestigious school does not necessarily mean a happy 4-6 years ahead too. Listen to the child and respect his decision.

Proudly mum,
I am curious in the way ur DD made her choice. Can I trouble you to disclose her decision making process? My DD also went through the process however the final decider was actually a non school related factor…
Thanks -

Opps... Then my infor fr friends are not tt accurate. Sorry abt tt.Zann:
Yup... GE pupils will be in Isparks. Heard tt those mainstream pupils who did very well in the psle will also be placed in Isparks.
What I heard not necessary leh. Know of someone in the past got 257 given ispark and many who score way above 260 in non-ispark.
But all GE pupils will be in Isparks, right?
Hi, in the recent Parent Symposium, it was mention that mainstreamers who have perform well in the DSA Tests will be considered and offered admission to iSparks, NOT dependent on their PSLE scores. -
My child is in P2 this yr, P3 next yr. When do I need to look around sec school for him?
Can share with me which are the schools with DSA programme at the East side of Singapore? -

Hi Foreverfriends, there's no fixed schedule of when you should start looking around. It's really all up to you and your child. In my case, I think I started in P5 - making him/her be aware that every school has varying strength(s) and also have the kid to start thinking what he/she wants to have in his/her dream school. My child is in P2 this yr, P3 next yr. When do I need to look around sec school for him?

The list of schools participating in DSA can be found in http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/dsa-sec/participating-schools/. This list varies by the year. -
Thanks Kiasumeme
It’s a long list of schools. Which are the good ones in the East side? I only know Dunman High school. -
