With the current non-transferable measure, is it better to just apply DSA to your first choice of school or still better to try two or three DSA schools ?

Try only for the school/schools you are sure you would want to go to if offered a DSA CO, no matter how your PSLE scores turn out. Don't bother trying for 'standby' schools because you'll just confuse yourself if you get a CO and wonder if you should wait for your PSLE results.

My boy doesn't go for any tuition and has no outstanding academic award e.g SMOPS as he has never been trained that way. Just got his P6 SA1 result, 3A*/1A: Math 98, science 97, CL 92, English 86. He isn't a GEPer either. P4 SA2 4A*, P5 2A*/2A. He is one of the key players in school badminton team, the team won 2 times champions at inter-primary school tournament, 4th place in national tournament.

Based on his SA1 result, any chance for DSA RI through academic?
Sigh~ the chance to DSA RI through academic for nonGEPer is almost 0.

DSA takes 50% seats, means 225 seats are availabe. There are 6~7 GEP classes and each class has 30 students, so GEPers take nearly 180~210 seats, the rest should be taken by sports-DSA ba. πŸ˜“

Have a question, For DSA CO, do all schools have the same cut-off date for acceptance? Will we hit situation when first choice yet to offer but 2nd choice needs you to decide?

              yes.

The School's letter of offer will be received around mid aug (latest by Sep 1st ) The school preference form will have to be submitted after PSLE only. So you have ample time to check the schools and decide on your options.

              See here for exact dates.

Base on your boy's outstanding consistent academic results he is very likely to get into RI thru PSLE result, so why bother DSA ? When my boy was in mainstream before joining GEP, he result is also like your boy but after joining GEP, due to the difficulty level, his result drop to 70+ and they have not been focus on mainstream syllabus, sigh ... :faint: So don't envy GEP.

                  Funx3,

DD will DSA through golf. I am hoping that for the Sports DsA they apply a lower GAT cut off then academics.

She is not quite a 4A* student. More a 2 A* and 2 A so probably will be borderline Direct psle candidate for RGS πŸ™

Does anyone know of a Kelly teacher based at Rich Mansion, Bukit Timah? She claims to tailor classes for the GAT and HAST.

Anyone has experience of her classes?

Manage to check some info from HCI Open House.

For the marks submission, they're looking at the overall column in the report book. When your child is shortlisted, prepare a copy of the result + others certificates. Don't have to be \"certified true copy\".

How about RI? I didn't get to see the DSA booth as I was there late, rushing for classroom experience & the talk. Can someone share on this.

                      Thks
I attended a talk of DSA at RI and find out the DSA procedure as below. Once the online application is submitted, print out a paper copy of the cover page which contains all the information submitted online, and then send the cover page together with all the supporting documents to the general office for Year 1-4. No certified certificates, no photograph and no personal statement are required.
