Has anyone bought pianos from Century Piano before?
I’m interested in trading in my old Paco piano and getting another 2nd hand piano… Anyone has recommendations? -
The touch of keyboard & piano is different. Strength is needed to play piano and you need varying strengths throughout the music piece. Even amongst different make of piano, the touch (& of course sound/pitch depending on its height) is different.
When I first read this, I simply don't undertand what the writer is trying to say. When I went to Yamaha piano sale, the sales lady said the same thing. She told me that as the child move to a more advance stage a better piano is needed due to the sound and the feel of the piano. Well, at that point of time, I still don't understand but has gone ahead buying an upright piano. Since the model that I want is currently out of stock and I am queue number 37 buying that model, the delivery for the piano is only 2 months later.
While waiting for the piano to be delivered, ds use keyboard to practice at home. In school he uses Clarinova. Now that the piano finally arrive, I finally understood what the writer and the sales lady is trying to say. The sound, the touch of an upright piano is totally different than digital or keyboard. Asking ds which piano he prefers, he chooses upright piano. No wonder he will be the first one running to try on the teacher upright piano rather than the digital that he is supposed to use in class. -
The feel & sound of playing an elec piano/ keyboard is totally
different from playing an upright piano.. I personally prefer the hard
hitting keys of a piano to those of the elec keys. You can really feel the
difference in the sound it makes and the feel of your fingers hitting the
keys..
I get a similar feeling when making comparison between playing on an
upright piano & playing on a grand piano.. It just gives you a kind of
HIGH and gives you \"form\" to play good music when you hear such
beautiful sounds coming out of a thing of beauty.. -

... playing an upright piano...
You mean OUTRIGHT, right? I had this strange vision of Mozart playing the organ upside-down. -
