Using a GE fridge for the past 15 years, so far so good. Not once did it even break down.

hi,
originally i had set my mind to get panasonic fridge but took too long to decide and before i knew it, they had phased out those models with top freezer. so now, i am thinking between hitachi and samsung…
samsung was originally not within my consideration simply becoz its korean brand… ppl have been saying that jap brand is better but with all being manufactured in almost the same country, would there be difference? and y samsung? coz the salesperson was saying that samsung is the only one in the market right now with digital inverter…
anyone can give views between hitachi and samsung? or i shd still consider panasonic and juz accept bottom freezer models?
TIA! -
Fisher & paykel doesn’t have bottom freezers anymore? My current fridge does.

using a Samsung twin door. looks big but shelves are not deep. fills up easily near CNY. good thing is there is chill function at every shelf.

I am reviving this thread.
My 6.5 years old Panasonic fridge (bottom freezer) is dying on me despite getting it repaired. I now have impression that Panasonic is not really good. Or should I be happy that it can last 6.5 years?
Can anyone recommend a durable brand? I only need basic features n no need a big one.
Thanks. -
My Sharp brand fridge still working now after ten years. MIL and my mum uses the same model and still working after 8 years. Got it from Mega discount store (they have a branch at Kallang Leisure now). Maybe you can take a look there?

Mine is Goldstar since 1996.
I guess Goldstar is now LG? -
Don’t buy Panasonic fridge. Feedback from a relative, no good.
Most are happy with Mitsubishi fridge.
Mine is a Hitachi, bought at Ngee Ann City as staff claimed that Hitachi better than Mitsubishi but I later found out that they pushed very hard for Hitachi at this branch, could be due to higher commission? But so far, I am happy with my fridge. -
Our 12year old Ariston just died on us. Promoters at few branches at Best Denki and Courts said Hitachi technology is more advanced than Pansonic, but one branch was having promotion for Panasonic and was strongly recommending it. we bought a Hitachi eventually. Hope it can last as long as the Ariston.

I got the Samsung door in door fridge. Love it, especially when I see kids open the outer door to get milk, chocs & yoghurt. Less cold air getting out. And freezer space is definitely a lot more, and more organized, than my old Fisher & Paykel.
